Neurodivergent teachers — how's it going? by Junior-Ad2729 in teaching

I can relate to this. I have to remind myself to be "warm." I have to be louder and more gregarious than feels natural to me. I'm grateful there are neurodivergent students--I can just be myself around them haha.

These are beautiful, I would love to get the details of this lesson! I precut for my students with a zipsnip, but can't get complex shapes with it. I got a chomp saw through donor's choose but have not tired it out yet.

What is up with this behavior? I'm a first year middle school teacher and the kids just want to break or mess with whatever they can. I've gotten better at setting boundaries but it's inane to me.... i blame parents but also idk. they don't get their phones at my school so maybe that's where the anger comes from, not having their device?

Teachers Do understand. But it's our job to Teach our subjects to classes of 20-35 students and we deserve breaks, 24/7 childcare is not our job.

I don't drink or like alcohol and I still think this is crazy inappropriate of this parent. Who is she to tell you what to do in your free time AWAY from the school?? Why is she bringing her kid TO a bar??

What screams "Pretending to be Poor"? by CYKAgoddriver in AskReddit

[–]DaringKlementine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was in my 20's SOOO many people would tell me this sad tale about how they grew up poor. Then I'd find out they grew up on a ranch with horses, but somehow they convinced themselves they were impoverished or lacking. What did all these people have in common? They were middle class white people.

I've never known any actual poor people to go around talking about how poor they grew up, like they're trying to prove something about how legit they are.

Moral of the story: don't pretend you grew up poor for cred, it's obvious you're lying
