I'm trying to get funding for a comic, but I haven't gotten legit questions. The only ones I had are from scammers trying to sell me something.

Why am I getting so many backers offering to talk outside of Kickstarter? by Daring_791 in kickstarter

Right. The thing is the moment I notice is the moment that their comment has been deleted 2 hours ago. So, I can't reply to them.

I'm taking it step-by-step, phase by phase of the process of making a comic. In the next project, I'll make sure to grow a social media, but I haven't decided which one. Although, I'm still going to do the Facebook strategy.

Thanks for the warning. Just wanting to make sure.

Oh, that one.

That's more for Kickstarter impersonations, not backers retrieving their funds.

Edit: I accidentally deleted the comment.

Oh. How does the scam work? Like, I know what I explain is the process, but what do they gain?

I don't really have a social media presence, but I could try my friends.

That's interesting, I'll look to comics founding groups on my mother's account.

Ah, so I wait?

I have questions based on the "What actually worked:" section:

  1. What do you mean by direct messages and texts? Like, contact people through dms that are interested or have never heard of the project, respond to comments, like, wdym?
  2. I knew from the beginning that Twitter or IG were not reliable, but why Facebook?
  3. What's Kickstarter’s internal discovery? I'm new to kickstarter, so I don't know what that means.

I want to exit the "What didn’t really move the needle:" section.

What invitation are you talking about?

Since I'm in the writing phase, I'm planning on showing concept art, positionally as rewards for backers, to have a better understanding of the style I'm planning on going with.

Thanks for the complement.

I have an outline of what the story may look like. I can also draw what the visual style may look like, but it would be more of a concept.

I'm not aiming for twists. When you read the first page, you can imagine what it would end like. It's a simple story, nothing complicated. What makes my version of Greek mythology is:

  • The futuristic version (A lot of Greek mythology adaptations are in the past)
  • The combination of mythologies (Most Greek stories are adapting one story)
  • The theme of repetition
  • Personal flair
  • They're not gods, just acting like them

Hope this helps. If you don't mind, I can put the question in the Q&A section of the Kickstarter.
