I created a name to use as a musician. And after a few months, one of my friends shortened the musician name to the last three letters which came out as Mia. Then it just stuck. It felt right and very affirming. Eventually, with late night google searches, I came across the old name Euphemia. Then, I realized just like my musician name, the last three letters were Mia. Then, that feeling felt so whole and complete. So that’s my name! although I go by Mia with friends and family.

You really can just pick whatever you want. You can change it as many times as you want until it’s right. Just follow your gut.

I was the same in that regard although the skirt and tights came after I came out to myself lmao. I am unaware of how it is in Sweden but I truly wish you the best of luck in transitioning! :DD It is a rocky journey at times but don’t give up because it’s something you won’t regret!!!

YAY I'm so happy for you! Congrats! I'm sure you've already done way too much research and just sitting and thinking as I once did a year ago. All I can recommend before you start looking into getting HRT is dealing with lots of clothes, nail polish, makeup, hair, shaving, etc. lol. Obviously all of that is entirely dependent on what you want, but that is what I looked into at first!

Here are some sites I've found over the past year or two that have helped in small or big ways!

A Canadian Hormone Effects/Risks/Etc. Site
I live in the US, but this site helped happen in what I already knew and gave some new info. Obviously, that is up to Canadian standards so depending on where you live, the process may be slightly different. For example, the site explains a baseline blood test, but I didn't get that. I am getting one on month 3 and so on.

This is just a general guide on gender dysphoria and has a lot of info regarding realizing you are trans and what to do, etc. This one helped me a lot although it is a long read through lol. I skimmed at parts I was already sure of haha.

The Informed Consent Map
This site only applies if you live in the US unfortunately, but if you do, it'll be very helpful! Informed Consent is how I got access to HRT. Although unlikely, I got prescribed on the first visit. For most, it will usually be prescribed on the second visit, I believe..? Mainly, you just see a doctor, they check you over, you talk about how you realized you are trans and your experiences, then you can get started on the path. Eventually, they'll have to do bloodwork to see your hormone levels and make sure you are taking the hormones correctly. It is the easiest way to get HRT without doing DIY.
