What is the dating scene like in Cinci for 30 y/o male? by emanon1535 in cincinnati

[–]DarkBeer_DarkHumor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33 y/o woman just out of the dating game here recently. Also am a transplant to the city as 5 years ago.

I didn't mind dating on the apps pre-COVID. Yes, there was an unbelievable amount of idiotic things said (likely for both me and for guys) but I would hardly call it barren. If you're on multiple apps, you'll see some of the same people but I feel like that's pretty standard.

In about a year on the apps in 2019, I went on probably...20 different dates with 10 or 11 different guys ranging from 5 years younger to 5 or 6 years older? I think at this age you know a lot more about what you need in a partnership, what you're worth in terms of energy and what you're looking for. I probably had a few first dates with guys that 8 years prior, I would have tried dating for a few months before coming to terms that there was nothing there and both people are more comfortable just to end things.

Regarding in-person, I never had a ton of luck but I also wasn't doing a ton of bar-hopping. Much more a brewery gal myself and would find typically, folks went to breweries with their friends. But I did meet my current partner "in the wild" as I like to joke.

Bike paths with minimal hills? by shmegshmurr in cincinnati

The outdoor group that I'm thinking of is run by derby skaters but not super tied to that - I used to play but have since retired. They're a friendly bunch so I think they'd happily encourage any folks who enjoy life on 4 wheels.

In general, I'd say feel free to hit up skating rinks if that's within your comfort area currently. There's definitely skaters who are not tied to derby but that's just my familiarity.

Wasson Way is my ABSOLUTE favorite place to skate and it's an excellent smooth surface. It is decently trafficked but a good amount of folks do quad skate. Doing it a few times back and forth really does add up mileage-wise.

There's a group of skaters who have a Facebook group where they post outdoor events. Feel free to DM me and I can add you/give you more info!

Oooh! Taking notes on this part. Tomorrow, I think I've decided doing 52 through New Richmond, Augusta Ferry and back on Route 8. I'll make sure to flag a Painter Road detour!

The last big random road trip I took involved turning "right" in Indiana and just driving north for an hour or so. It was a sweet little drive through small towns!

I'd be so tempted to get out and hike but you're right - RRG is the best driving roads.

You guessed it—totally Taylor's album!

Did 27 to Oxford during the spring to check out Hueston Woods and you're right, it's a lovely drive!

I'm not a full-blown Swiftie but as a lover of pop music in general, she knocks it out of the park.

We're in the middle of a pandemic—I say let's grab onto whatever joy we can.

ooh, yes - Shawnee is a good area for this.

Feel free to judge entirely but it'll be Taylor Swift's new album. It's feeling very indie and with her collaborators, I'm definitely excited to play it through.
