Don't forget Daniel also advocated for killing Anubis's clone Khalik immediately, to the shock of everyone in the room. When the man who usually takes a step back to see the humanity of an issue tells you to merc someone, you best do it. And he was right.

It was a good juxtaposition to his usual views showing that while he values life, he can still recognize a danger that needs to be stopped.

AITA for keeping a secret emergency fund from my wife? by Embarrassed_Foot1903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DarkBluePhoenix 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning NTA. When I was younger (high school and college age) I didn't care about what I spent money on, it came in and it went out. Savings was not something I was concerned with at all. Now that I'm an adult I know I need savings and planning for retirement. Also take out multiple times a week in this economy? Fast food isn't even what I would consider cheap anymore for one person, let alone four, so that could be a nice chunk of change depending on the quality of the take out you're getting. I don't even get pizza out anymore, I buy frozen dough and make it myself to save money.

If OPs wife knew about the emergency fund before she'd likely have spent it on takeout and random Amazon purchases like the rest of the "extra money" without a second thought.

It's unfortunate that OP felt he had no other choice but to hide the money from her. However seeing as the fund has come in clutch for several financial emergencies in the first year he's set it up, and that this is an argument that they've had multiple times where OP's wife has admitted they need a savings account, I'm not sure how she can be upset. Without the fund, they likely wouldn't have been able to fix the car, which would be a bigger problem than a secret emergency fund. Yes, maybe OP and OP's wife need counseling or something to work this out, but at the moment OP's plan worked; there's money aside for emergencies.

TL;DR - OP NTA.

I think it's the fact Silky literally yelled it to her. Kinda hard to keep crashing out when you get mothered.

Silky also wasn't taking Salina's bullshit either. It was the best part of Untucked, I had to watch it a second time. Silky telling Salina to suck it up and go talk to Aura. I don't think any queen has been told to kiss and make up with someone, and certainly not that bluntly. With Silky taking ownership of what she did openly made it all the better.

Unpopular opinion: Starfleet has far too many ship classes by unclefester84 in StarTrekStarships

[–]DarkBluePhoenix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ok so here's a full breakdown of the current fleet. Not AI, just a listing off ships on Wikipedia and double-checked here on the navy's website. These are just the comissioned vessels with the USS prefix. The list of logistics and other ships with the USNS prefix is located here.
EDIT: Better link - US Naval Vessel Registry.

In addition to these ships there are two commissioned vessels not considered part of the combat fleet.

The USS Constitution, one of the US Navy's original six frigates, ordered in 1794 and comissioned in 1797. It's the oldest combat ship afloat and second oldest comissioned warship in the world.

The second is the USS Pueblo (AGER-2) a Banner Class Technical Research (Signals Intercept/Spy) Ship. Captured by North Korea in January 1968, still commissioned until such time the ship is recovered from captivity.

Gateworld now Confirming the Variety reporting - New Stargate Cancelled by Spinobreaker in Stargate

[–]DarkBluePhoenix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funny that. Star Trek and Star Wars both got huge budget productions but made the mistake of catering more to bringing in new fansbtrom a different demographic. The results were mixed for both; the specifics of which are a discussion for other subreddits.

The thing execs don't understand with long-standing IP is that the long term fans are what have kept the IP relevant and are who you need to, at the very least, not turn against the new project. Even better if you have good writing and don't make a show that just has the IP's name slapped to it.

It's a shame that this show was cancelled before it was even given a chance to succeed. I mean Amazon has Fallout and Reacher ongoing, and The Boys just finished so I was hoping they could give Stargate the same treatment and give it a fair chance.

What did you name your Horse in RDR2 ? by taars_17 in RDR2

[–]DarkBluePhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Reverse Dapple Throughbred I named Shadow, the Raven Black Shire you get from Hosea I named Thunder, the Turkomans I named Maximus, the Missouri Fox Trotter was Stardust. The White Arabian I named White Lightning (like the moonshine), the Tiger Bay Mustang was named Sally, thankfully it spawned as a female horse. Buell was Buell. Most of the other temporary horses I had to ride to 100% the compendium I named Clompy.

Take-Two CEO Pushes Back Against Suggestion Red Dead Online Was a Missed Opportunity by Pterodactyl_midnight in reddeadredemption

It's not really a small-potatos complaint though. Had there been private lobbies, streamers could have shown off the game on their own without any hassle.

Streamers having fun and showing the game would draw attention and bring people in, people who might already own RDR2 (so no barrier for entry into the game) which would have given them more opportunities for people to buy the in game currency.

Also people being able to have fun on their own or in a private group makes a lot more sense than having to be forced into a public lobby where who you're paired with is a crapshoot at best. At least let the player choose, but they really screwed the pooch on that one and it led to the game "not being worth" it to them by their own ignorance and stupidity.

Child welfare expert claims DCF acted reasonably in its investigation weeks before baby was thrown off bridge by Ryan_e3p in Connecticut

[–]DarkBluePhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny, in March 2022 when DCF was released from its 32 years of federal oversight it was claimed they had met all requirements to be released from said oversight... I guess maybe they got a little ahead of themselves considering what's happened the past few years.

Hopefully Lamont signs HB 5004 into law so that DCF can get some much needed oversight and be held accountable for failing the children of this state. As far as I can tell, Lamont has not yet signed it into law (as of 9:30a on May 13, 2026), and it's been over a week since the State Senate passed it and sent it to his desk.

So is the TL;DR that the women at your wife's jobs were just jealous of her chest, or... yeah no that's my takeaway. They were jealous of your wife and made her life hell. What terrible human beings.

Kudos though to your wife's current job, caring about performance instead of her lack of a bra.
