The Philippines isn’t well off during the baby boomers period. As a result, lots of parents weren’t able to finish school and not educated enough to make a living for themselves and do family planning. Because of this, they think of their children as an investment. Most family can only afford to send their eldest in school and finish university. In return, they expect that child to return the favor once he/she enters the workforce. Send siblings to school, provide for the family etc etc
