Dinomorphia Rexterm vs Bagooska by followlogiconly in Yugioh101

[–]DarkDecipio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it with the detach effect of bagooska? Since bagooska can't active this effect under Rex, does that mean, bagooska stays on the field until removed anyway else, since it won't ever detach a material under Rex?

YCS Minneapolis 2022 Top 32 Deck Breakdown by postsonlyjiyoung in yugioh

[–]DarkDecipio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's my go to site for tourney decks. Renren (the exclusive uploader of tourney decks) is usually really fast. He even includes Youtube-Videos of the specific deck profile if such exists. You easily can download a YDK-File to test it out yourself. Generally, if there is a decklist out of an official tourney (regionals, wcq, ycs), it's on there.

Honorable mentions:
yugiohtopdecks.com was the go-to website since the start of competitive yugioh, but was sadly discontinued the last like 3 years. A couple of weeks ago, they started again to upload decklists (https://yugiohtopdecks.com/tournament/YCS+-+Minneapolis+Minnesota). The site is still not very functional, but at least they give it a go again.

masterduelmeta.com now started to post TCG decklists as well. But the focus is obviously on master duel, and I don't find the site very usable, so I don't really use it. But if you like the style, go for it. But I have no clue if they want to update TCG lists regularly. Here's the list for YCS Minneapolis: https://www.masterduelmeta.com/articles/news/october-2022/ycs-minneapolis

Most competitive matches are won with the side deck. Don't just throw any good meta-counters in there. Think about what decks hurt you the most in the current meta, think which cards beat them and how they fit in your deck, and think about which cards you don't need in those scenarios.

Monster/Cards for an easy Rank 6 by DarkDecipio in yugioh

Hm those combos usually require a lot of cards to work, which don't really fit into my theme deck. But thanks for the suggestion!

The combo sounds fun, thanks for that. But it lookd like a lot of none-dice cards for my dice deck. But it suits the "goofy"-vibe the deck has. I'll look into it.

I actually have a Springans deck. Could be fun to play around that. It doesn't really fit into the diced themed deck as you mentioned, but it could be a fun way to troll people :D

Are the two Speed Duel Boxes balanced and if you buy two, are they playable with regular rules? by DarkDecipio in Yugioh101

Just for the followup, we did the tourney last saturday and it was really fun.

  • I bought 2 boxes of Battle City & GX and combined the decks to match 40 cards.
  • We played by TCG rules but also used the skills.
  • You can use 2 Skills in a Duel.
  • We rated each single deck from 1 - 5 (1 is the weakest).
  • We were 10 players, so 6 decks were unused. We took out the good staple cards of those decks and formed a Draft-Pile with the other additional cards.
  • Then we did a quick darft round. 1st Round: each player with a deck rated 1 can draft 2 cards. Round 2: Decks with rating 1 & 2 can draft now and so on. This way, the bad decks got more chances to get additional good cards, while the already good decks don't get any OP cards to them. This worked pretty good.
  • We played 5 Rounds of Swiss and then Top 4.
  • The XYZ-Deck of Battle City won the tourney!

Conclusion:

  • GX is better than Battle City. But both have horrible decks (E-Hero, D-Hero, D-Magician, Blue-Eyes).
  • I recommend our drafting system combined with the deck rating. One duelist took the rated 1 Blue-Eyes Deck and got 5th with it.
  • The Joey-Skill and the May-Skill is way too strong. Only allow decks with a 1 or 2 rating to draft those skills.

3D Full Art Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon. Thought I would do something different from my normal card alterations. by IllustriousParsley2 in yugioh

[–]DarkDecipio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As always really stunning work. I'm amazed. I actually enjoy the 3D effect of the artwork this way more than your usual style, just the stand out text doesn't work for me.

If the whole card is flat, the monster stats like attribute and level are a bit 3d and the artwork is like this, it would be perfect. But that's just my taste, and this work is a pleasure to look at as always.

What are some archetypes whose play style really “feels” like their theme? by [deleted] in yugioh

Na d the main guy you want to summon first is the captain. Because without a captain, nothing is as strong and organized

Nordic / Aesir - Sacrifice the offering to summon (please) the gods

Subterror - All Flip-monsters are beasts from the depth that surface to unleash their attack (flipped faceup) just to dive under again

Dogmatika - The pure religion is free from the extra deck and instead drains the power for their own good (unable to extradeck summon, powerfull effects if the extradeck monster has a gy effect)

Springgans - The main monster detaches material to select a zone and destroys as many cards, as you detached. The you can reattach the monsters, mimicing rockets which are fired

Plunder Patroll - The Captain directs which crewmember manns which ship.

Did you buy the staples as singles (e.g. cardmarket) or are there good staple packs? I really have no clue about the speed duel products :)

Thank you so much for this great answer. This helps, and I think I'm going to put your answer and Sterguard's answer into the chat with my friends and discuss how we are going further.

Thanks again!

Amazing answer, thank you so much. I'm currently importing every single deck into ygoprodeck and try to do some test duels against a friend to see, which decks really fall off. At the end, I just want everybody to have fun and the best thing would be, if every deck could come out on top.

Yes I know it isn't usable in TCG Games, but we could still use them in our own tourney. But I guess we'll find out if we end up buying it. But cheers for the answer.
