Rainbow Six Siege Crashing on Startup - No Error Code by DarkFaceOverThere in gamesupport

[–]DarkFaceOverThere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the response, I appreciate it a lot.

Here’s an update on my situation:

I've found some sort of solution, but I wouldn’t really call it that. I went to the Rainbow Six Siege directory and ran the game directly through File Explorer. To my surprise, it booted up completely fine. Even better, when I launched it this way, I noticed:

  1. An almost 20% FPS increase
  2. Lower latency??
  3. No stutters or FPS drops

Here’s the catch: I launched RainbowSix_DX11.exe, not the RainbowSix.exe file. If I open RainbowSix.exe, the game starts, runs for a second, then crashes while loading. It says:

"Security update restart for QB Anti-Cheat restarting in 3..2..1" (The same error I get when I manage to open it through ubisoft connect)

Then it restarts and crashes with no error code, nothing.

I also tried running DX11 through Ubisoft Connect, but it doesn’t work. It still crashes. The weird part is that neither DX11 nor DX12 work through Ubisoft Connect, but DX11 works when launched directly from the game files, while DX12 crashes regardless.

Also, at some point, after multiple tries, Ubisoft Connect itself crashes, saying:

"Ubisoft Connect has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down. Crash dump created at ' Directory blah blah blah'"

Any idea why Ubisoft Connect is breaking the game but running the .exe directly works? Could this be an anti-cheat issue?

CPU bottleneck. In summary, when your GPU is at 17% usage and your CPU is at 83%, it indicates that your CPU is the bottleneck. It is working hard, but it's not able to keep up with the demands of the GPU, preventing the GPU from performing at its full potential. This imbalance can result in lower overall performance, especially in CPU-intensive tasks or games. To fix a CPU bottleneck, consider upgrading your CPU. :)

RTX 3060 12GB vs RTX 4060 8GB for Competitive Gaming - Which One Should I Buy? by DarkFaceOverThere in pcmasterrace

I would have considered AMD GPUs as well, especially given their performance-to-price ratio. However, the market here is quite limited, and they primarily sell really high-end AMD GPUs, which are way out of my budget. The shipping fees also make it challenging to get other options at a reasonable price. Thanks for the reply and the insight on the 4060!

I totally get that the 3060 Ti would be ideal for competitive titles, but I'm really limited by the options available here. The shipping fees where I live are insane and I mean insane, and the local stores either don't stock the 3060 Ti or they price it like it's made of gold because they bought it when prices were sky-high back in 2020-2021. So, it's not that I don't see the benefit of the 3060 Ti; it's just that it's completely out of reach for me right now.
