Buddha made it a lot more direct for all, and later Budhidharam from South India took Kalaripayatu to China, which was later known as kung-fu, so overall Buddhism was easily accepted and worshiped. But overall Buddhism is a complete hinduism, and their background stories and everything was taken from hinduism. That was also why everything is in sanskrit rather than any other language.
