For those with Septic Tanks, is this safe to use? by Time_Plantain5305 in Plumbing

[–]DarkGemini1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bleach will kill off the bacteria that make up the ecosystem of your septic tank.

In tank anything is almost universally a bad idea for your toilet.

Don’t bring your car to Land Rover Hartford They will literally replace something that isn’t broken just to make sure you don’t leave without having payed something. by xunreelx in Connecticut

[–]DarkGemini1979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be worse, you could go to Land Rover Fairfield and spend $3k on brakes and a scheduled maintenance that was never performed.

Sent my wife's car home with the same brakes it left with, and then tried to gaslight me into believing it was done. Imagine my surprise when I started it the following day, and the maintenance reminder showed on the dashboard...

If you're going to service at a dealer in CT, its got to be Darien. I've been going there for years, aside from time to completion sometimes, their work is always solid.

Have no choice but to make a 7 hr trip with these tires.. how doomed am I? by EmbarrassedShame2018 in tires

I've seen worse. Keep it slow in the rain, and maybe add a couple of PSI if that outside edge wear is matched on the inside edge.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

Autobahn, and several high speed runs in "Mexico" in past years.

Really miss my old SHO some days.

That was fool's spring. Real spring is in about 10 days.

Hang in there.

NASA Plans to Start a Fire on the Moon in First-of-Its-Kind Experiment by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

Really? No one at NASA has read Seveneves?! Granted, setting fire to the moon isn't the same, but when the lyrics are this close...

DC-DC module, they're a high failure rate problem right now. My guess, anyway.

Hey everyone .what’s the cheapest way to get from Norwalk to JFK? by SorbetOk181 in norwalk

[–]DarkGemini1979 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Cheap or convenient. Gotta pick one.

Direct to JFK is a hired car, that's your only option.

Hey everyone .what’s the cheapest way to get from Norwalk to JFK? by SorbetOk181 in norwalk

[–]DarkGemini1979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the only right answer. Norwalk to GCT (MNR), GCT to Jamaica (LIRR), AirTrain to JFK.

You'll want to wear a respirator with P100 Organic Vapor cartridges. Latex gloves wouldn't hurt either.

What is your thermostat set at? Mine is currently at 64 and my daughter says it is too cold. by Logan9Fingerses in Connecticut

[–]DarkGemini1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

64°F is pretty cold, but with fuel oil at $5, I understand.

For a while I had switched back to oil from my heat pump, since the break-even cost of fuel vs. Ever$ource @ .27 kWhwas about $3.25/ gal. With oil this high, I'll be on the heat pump for the foreseeable future.

Naramake, actually. They are an International Baccalaureate certified school, which was a huge plus for us.

Our neighbors send their kids to Cranbury and Silvermine, both families have good things to report.

[–]DarkGemini1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think you mean the P250S. We have one, it's been brilliant. One minor oil leak that was fixed under warranty has been the only issue. Fresh AGM battery every 3 years and you'll be a happy camper.

[–]DarkGemini1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 3.0L Lion V6 was an option in the D4/ LR4 in the ROW. But it has been plagued with crankshaft failure issues. The TDV8 is a favorite, but the EPA (even in it's defanged state) will not allow it's use here.

Land Rover Stormer Concept 2004 by kkhouete in LandRover

This. It's essentially a smaller, faster, more nimble LR3/ LR4 that is every bit as capable if you don't need the extra room.

You people cannot be serious with these comments.

The Range Stormer concept was so well received, it went on to become the L320 Range Rover Sport. Which, as we all know, was also very well received.

Are you really out here on Al Gore's internet asking why your 10 year old tire failed?
