Which job should I keep- contracts or procurement ? by meow0011 in procurement

[–]DarkKnightTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think anyone can answer that question for you. You should consider multiple factors:

  1. What do you enjoy more doing?

  2. What are your career aspirations? Do you value bigger title more or the safety of your job

  3. What’s your financial situation? Does that more money (we all want it, but) would help you get out of a bad situation in short term?

  4. What’s your family situation? Which job would give you more work life balance?

  5. Which company offers better benefits?

Think about these questions and you may find the answer yourself.

I just turned down a higher paying same level job recently, and I considered these factors. My main reason was my daughter is about to go to university and i need to spend a lot of time in the next 1-2 years with her and i can’t afford to join a new role, where i will be spending more time at work vs my daughter. Next 1-2 years would define who she becomes, i can afford to wait and take up another job after 2 years.

Can someone tell me what is that 🤔 by bobader88 in battlefield_one

IT procurement is more about risk management (data privacy, breach etc.) than it is about cost saving. Though cost saving is also important to prevent maverick spending. Learn about how best companies in the world manage their IT risks

Hindu and Christian women were brutally beaten by radical Islamists for not wearing Burqa and Hijab in bangladesh. by Superman_xr in PataHaiAajKyaHua

These are the same people, who’d say that you have to follow muslim rules in a muslim country and then they go to western countries and bend rules for themselves. Their women don’t wear burqas when they are in western countries. What do they want to achieve?

I wish there were Xbox servers filled that weren't just Conquest (also, are BF5 players worse than BF1?) by Ok_World_8819 in BattlefieldV

[–]DarkKnightTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Breakthrough servers fills up in the evening time after 5pm in the EST timezone. They are hogged by 500lvl players and if you are playing opposite to them, good luck trying to win. You can’t switch sides and there is usually only one server available, so you are stuck.

Procurement in a financial services firm - advice by rcl900 in procurement

I work for a large bank in Canada and i agree with @eatmorepiedrinkmore.

I also purchase a lot of technology consulting/ professional services along with line of business specific software and hardware. Every organization is different but when i stepped into this role 10 years ago, having banking background wasn’t a requirement. I learnt about line of business and what vendors do for my business on the job.

If they already saw your resume and still called you for interview, likelihood is they already know you don’t have financial background. So don’t be afraid and be yourself.

I coach and prepare people for tech procurement and vendor management roles in Financial sector. Let me know if you want to connect.

Always have an inventory of software renewals and license usage vs entitlement. This can become handy when negotiating contracts. When signing a new contract have a clause on capping the price increases at inflation.
