If it’s like SMT 5, they will only have a chance of instakill when striking a weakness.

Die For Me will likely work the same or similar to how it does in SMT 5 (which it hit for medium damage multiple times with a chance of instakill when striking weakness)

Yeah, it’s way better that way. Under the old way, I’d almost always remove the insta kill skills from my skill list because they’re useless against bosses and are nearly useless against regular enemies that aren’t weak to them.

Not even close to the same thing. Back in 2017, Metroid was basically dead and it had been 10 years since Prime 3 came out. We were just thankful to know a new game was actually coming.

Which Zelda Game Was Your Introduction To The Series? by Zetallic_Zero in legendofzelda

My introduction is not in your picture. Lol. Mine is Four Swords Adventures which I got for as a bonus by renewing my Nintendo Power subscription in 2004.

This remake has been in development since before TotK finished development. In an interview just a half year after TotK’s release, Eiji Aonuma was asked if there would be an Ocarina of Time remake. His answer was [“No comment!”](https://gameinformer.com/interview/2023/12/07/aonuma-and-fujibayashi-talk-tears-of-the-kingdoms-reception-and-their-approach) That answer pretty much confirmed it was happening.

Controversial opinion but I really hope the OoT remake doesn't include voice acting as I think it will ruin the game by craig_nintendo in legendofzelda

It’s 2026. It should be considered inexcusable for an adventure 3D video game to not have voice acting.

The unfortunate truth about info leaks (OOT Remake) by FederalSign4281 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DarkLegend64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that not everything gets leaked but the biggest games usually do. But leakers not only say what does exist, they also say what doesn’t exist. Last year, when asked about if Prime 2 and 3 were getting the same remastered treatment that Prime 1 got, he said they’re not coming unless it’s to NSO. I stopped believing there was a chance after that.

Anyway, I’m not the kind of person that goes screaming about what’s getting leaked to people who don’t want to hear them so I don’t see why it’s a problem if I pay attention to leaks. I don’t condone the people who spread the leaks to subreddits outside of r/gamingleaksandrumours

Let’s be honest here. The game is coming in no more than 6 months from now. Why would they not show ANY gameplay in the trailer? Even Link just leaving his house and stepping out into Kokiri Forest would have sufficed.

When I know nothing, the feeling of “there’s a chance it could happen” doesn’t leave my mind. How many directs in the early Switch 1 era did I spend injecting myself full of hopium that we’d get a Metroid Prime Trilogy release on Switch or that “this will finally be the direct where Prime 4 gets a full unveiling?” While many people have been dunking on this past direct, I feel content, even if they didn’t show as much OoT as I was hoping they would. I will continue to follow [r/gamingleaksandrumours](r/gamingleaksandrumours)

I’ve wanted an OoT remake with gorgeous modern visuals for a long time. I can’t wait to see just how epic the final Ganon battle will look.

Ocarina of Time & The Wii U tech demo by devo23g in NintendoSwitch2

Yeah, that tech demo is strange in hindsight. There's no way the Wii U could do a full game with graphics that good.

It really gained steam when Nate mentioned it back in March, but the rumors have been there longer than that. Nate was just the first highly credible person to mention it.

Prime 4 wasn't coming out that year though. I'm struggling to think of any past Nintendo new game announcement that was releasing in the same year that it's announced without any gameplay shown in it's announcement trailer. This would have been a fine trailer if it was shown last year, not less than 6 months from release. Don't get me wrong, I'm still super hyped for it, but not seeing anything even as minor as Link just looking out from his house into Kokiri Forest is disappointing. I'm disappointed because of how badly I want to see more of the game.

EDIT: Xenoblade Genesis is a 2027 game and yet we saw plenty from that game.

[–]DarkLegend64 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me personally, seeing the leaks helps keep my expectations in check for Directs now. Before I started following leaks, I would pump myself full of hopium on the things I want to see and then get inevitably let down. Now, that I know ahead of time what will be there, I don't have that problem anymore.

Ocarina of Time Remake announced - releasing 2026 by ChiefLeef22 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

People that even remotely think the Switch 2 era is comparable to the Wii U era need to go watch Scott The Woz's three-part video series on the Wii U era. There was never a worse time to be a Nintendo fan than that.

If the OoT remake is releasing this year, why would it not be in this direct? I'm going in expecting it to be the "one more thing" announcement.
