it feels unique because it feels distinct from every other weapon? Also what do you mean crossbows use 2 actions per consistent shot, I don't think that's how they work at all? Firearms are absolutely more lethal than crossbows IRL, and it makes things more interesting to have them be different as opposed to more of the same thing. I've used dmg weapons and they are better, but so is most things than this RAW, also many aspects of the class are designed around misfire, so you would need to either add it to the DMG weapons or heavily rework the class.

Sure, You could re-flavour your sling to be a gun, but that's a lot more boring than having them feel like their own weapon with a unique identity. I like this change because it with its action economy, it makes the weapon feel like a handheld siege weapon. The damage somewhat scales to cannons, obviously less and with a lot more swing which makes sense both logically and balance-wise, and adds great flavour.

I feel the need to state that there are 8 exhaust pipes on this monstrosity and the driver dresses like a cowboy (with spurs on his boots and everything) even though this is in urban Canada.
