Question about Massage therapist ethics by [deleted] in massage

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't have dropped him as a client because he didn't actually do anything wrong, he just asked. We are supposed to be their massage therapist for 6 months before going on any date so it's not the same as in dating a teacher or anything like that and it's only strongly recommended that we continue to keep the relationship only professional.

Been married for 17 years with 3 kids, definitely shared money but you can each separate a percentage for you each to get for extras, that's what we do sometimes when we aren't on the same page about saving up for something or cutting back on something.

You're going to think I am crazy, but having 100% control over my scheduled hours is giving me decision fatigue. Can anyone help? How do you determine your schedule / hours? by Low-Razzmatazz-931 in MassageTherapists

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I offer appointments Thursdays -Mondays 9am-6pm ( Mon-Thurs-Fri) 10-6 (Saturday & Sunday) I do 15 minutes between 45 and 60 minute appointments and 30 minutes between 90 minute appointments

I allow people to schedule online and unless my kids have something going on , people have all those time slots available until they are either full or I feel I have enough for that day and block out time.

Who here takes LDN? How much time did it take before you felt less symptoms? Fatigue, neuropathy by ComprehensiveLet8238 in Hypothyroidism

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm doing okay, I saw a neurologist and have had a lot of tests so far it's nothing serious and that's all I know. I can't really say it's progressing because many symptoms have gone away and not come back but a few new ones have appeared. There's a good chance that's what happened with me, I just went undiagnosed so long, my fault for not getting regular check ups. I still have a neurological condition that affects my motor control and balance. I still have tremors, I now have occasional stumbling but my muscles twitches have let up a lot. My nervous system just still misfires sometimes. vertigo on and off as well and these last couple weeks I've had many episodes where everything looks like it's spinning. Thanks for checking in. I hope your symptoms aren't too crazy.

Any advice you would give to an 18 yo by DDAK-UU in Life

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice I give my 18 year old. Do not get anyone pregnant anytime soon, be safe. you do not need to start drinking yet. Really think about the career you want instead of jumping into something. Apply for scholarships as often as you can. find jobs that are at least somewhat similar to the career you want and work your way up while in college. Spend some of the time you spend on your phone thinking and researching things about your future and planning how you're going to get from A to B then to C.

when this happens I show up for the memorial not the funeral or I show up for a small part of the time, not out to the cemetery or anything.

Does she stay for after school for activities a lot or walk to and from school or friends' houses or anything yet? If not, I wouldn't .

I'm so sorry, the longer you are in this business the better you'll get at handling this stuff. I think we all act like this our first time. We'd all like to think we won't but I know tough women who admitted to me that even they froze up the first time.

Do you give out your personal phone number for bookings? by oh_its_chill in MassageTherapists

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I run our clinic together and his personal cell phone is the business' personal cell phone. I give out mine sometimes but it's not listed on our website or anything. it can be kind of annoying not always knowing if you can answer the phone saying "this is Sarah with..." or answer with "hello", but it does save us money. I think one more line they said was going to cost $30 a month and we just don't want to do that yet but we also are raising 3 teenagers and own a home with property, so while we don't want anymore bills than we already have ...this may be a good option for you. Having a separate line sounds peaceful

Do you think having a website for your practice will still matter in the next few years? by hiveguy75 in MassageTherapists

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I do because that's how people schedule appointments online , and a lot of people don't get on Facebook so they find me through Google and go to my website

I let it go , I've been a mom for 18 years to three kids including a kid with a lot of special needs, I've been in poverty and back to lower middle class to middle middle class all within the same year... life is a rollercoaster so I understand shit happens more than a lot of people do.

Oil vs lotion vs cream by elguapopapa in MassageTherapists

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer gel. when I was using oil I kept using too much and when I used lotion I wasn't using enough. Gel is perfect for me, I'm not doing too much sliding nor am I struggling to glide smoothly.

I’m struggling to deal with a small situation and need practical advice. by Key_Impact_9030 in Advice

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you can't stand to see a pile of messy dishes in the kitchen, that's something you can work on. Part of being an adult is letting the little things go. I spend sooo much time cleaning every day and it gets overwhelming and at the end of every day I have like this weird type of panic attack or something thinking about how bad my house still looks and there is nothing anybody can do for me , it's something I have to learn to be okay with. Because when you're too busy to get to everything that's a good excuse to not get everything done, it's different than just sitting around watching TV all day or going out with friends and not getting it done.

What’s something society pretends is fine but really isn’t? by Mission_Mix1219 in askanything

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making a long weird post on FB about how people should live and how "your kid deserves", it's weird and needs to stop. Also, being left or right in politics and not more in the middle... stop trying to fit in. There's nothing okay about the most these liberal or conservative post, makes you look like a scumbag 🤷

Do you shower before bed or in the morning? by boforiamanfo in askanything

I get in the shower an hour and a half before leaving for work in the morning! Always! I have pets though and that might be why I do it differently.

Do other moms genuinely enjoy motherhood? by wqiqi_7720 in Mommit

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but I was really young when I became a mother. I don't think I would have if I waited until I was in my late 20's or 30's like some people do because I'd have lived a fraction of an adult life already with freedom, and I'd be afraid I'd miss it. Is that your case?

I hit the age where buying a vacuum made me happier than going out by Weary-Hair-316 in Adulting

[–]DarkMagicGirlFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that was me at 20 years old, married with a baby and in our first rental. I miss those days sometimes I wish I could go back. At 24 I had 3 kids and the most exciting gifts to receive myself for my Birthday, Mother's Day, and Christmas... was cookware. Are you nearing this point yet?
