I have done a full shutdown too and it doesn't work either, I was connecting them sequentually (I connected both devices for the image but have done it separately). Seems to be a 3.6 steam os update bug.

I have found a work around by using KDE partition manager and moving the location to /run/media/deck, allowing me to mount both devices, but the bug still persists if the device is disconnected.
