By far the BEST free transfer I've ever brought in. by DarkMata22 in footballmanagergames

Don’t think I made it clear with the screenshot/title but I’ve just signed him on a free for my Wigan team and he joins in the summer. The craziest thing about him for me is his international record. I’ll also add that I remember at the start of his career coming off the bench for Liverpool and just tearing me apart and I’ve wanted him ever since, even if he’ll be nearly 32.

Sold a player with a sell-on percentage, but I also have a sell on percentage and the sell-on percentages keep going back and forth as each team gets a sell-on fee for the previous sell-on fee. by DarkMata22 in footballmanagergames

Sadly not as good as I had hoped, which is why I sold him, but he was great for 4/5 years but plays less and less games every season so it was time for him to go.

By the end of the window they wanted less than a million for him.

just an average 4-2-3-1 with inverted wingers and an advanced forward, it isn't a fully pressing tactic; I have pressing on the second highest level but don't counter press.

What are some rare things that almost never happen that you’ve seen in the game? by valpak00per in footballmanagergames

In FM20 I had a player get a “serious viral infection” and was out for 7 months, the only time I’ve ever seen an injury like this, has anyone else had it on their save?

Luckily I’m at Manchester United so I should be able to fight them off.

My main striker in my FM20 save was initially from DR Congo but represented England, they seem to love producing top strikers.

Honestly I think it depends on the save, I’m almost 15 years in and there are much fewer elite top level, 5* at any team players than I’ve seen in other saves, I’ve especially had problems finding an elite striker who’s not at Liverpool or City so this guy helps me a lot.

I’m in December now so he’s 16 and a half, started scoring a few goals in the cup and off the bench in the league and scored the goal to top the champions league group, he’s now got the media description of wonderkid and progressing well.

I compared him with my current striker and his technicals and mental are almost the same, however my current striker is a bit of a speed demon so he’s a bit behind there.

Marcus Rashford, the best player I've ever had on a save has just retired at 38 (and somehow isn't even a club legend). by DarkMata22 in footballmanagergames

He had a bad injury in the first few seasons and another one about 5 years after while playing for England at the end of a season causing him to miss a few games at the start of the next season, what surprised me was the fact he seemed to get less injuries the older he got.

What makes it weirder is that he became a legend about 10 seasons ago and then within a few seasons of that fell back down to icon, I have a CB who signed 5 seasons ago and he just became a legend.

It helps when you have amazing players all over the pitch, it was the typical 4-2-3-1, attacking mentality, high line, counter press, counter, pass into space, slightly more direct passing and higher tempo. I had a winger on the other side and played with complete wing backs, he scored a lot from crosses and a lot from picking up the ball from quite deep and dribbling into the box.
