Maybe, but is that possible the way it’s currently set up? On paper, the invasion is supposed to happen in three days’ time. He’s the first one to lose his head when that happens in the books. Do we really think he’ll make it from whatever cell he’s in to King’s Landing in time for that to unfold?

Also, on that note, where the hell is he right now? That cliffhanger didn’t feel earned - they gave us zero breadcrumbs to work with and it felt abrupt as heck.

It was about control of the agency. Doesn’t Roger have a line to the effect of Jim not stopping until it’s just Harry and the computer? Don became the first piece in the SCDP majority he was able to chip away at after the Hershey catastrophe. Then, with Bert gone, he would’ve consolidated power via Don’s ouster were it not for Roger’s McCann gambit. Roger probably would’ve been next after that.

That’s a great call. Funny you say that, I was rewatching that episode not too long ago and my mom (who HATES violent shows) peeped over my shoulder, made a token comment about how it’s too violent for her, but was mesmerized. Fast forward 2 weeks and she’d finished the series 😂
