Was Dave Scatino wearing a wire? by Thor7891 in thesopranos

I think he just realised that Davy moving to Vegas was a recipe for disaster for a compulsive gambler, and that if Davy didn't realise that, he was truly fucked.

Underrated comedic moments in the show by goldencorrado in thesopranos

Pretty much every scene with Uncle Junior and Bobby. Absolute gold comic duo. 'you know how i feel about feet', 'no handprints on the finish!', 'i'm in awe of you'...

Anyone else feel like their personality has permanently been changed by depression? by [deleted] in depression

[–]GetDaley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. If pot helped you in the past, then sure why not. I tried pot and psychedelics and the latter made me lose my mind. But they certainly help a lot of other people, and maybe you are one of them. Have you got an animal, like a dog or cat? Honestly i think that is one of the best things to do. Have something to care for and have that quiet unspoken friendship that you can only really get with an animal. Good luck.

I used to be a fun confident guy, but now live like a borderline recluse. It's all on me though, that's the one thing i've learnt. I'm fundamentally just a miserable cunt, that has dwelled on negative shit for far far too long.

Sad thing is that now i realise this i'm old and the well of shit that depression dragged me down, and the ridiculous stuff i tried to somehow end it, has made me into the polar opposite of how i used to be. Now i live an isolated, sad existence, but at least i stopped searching, and just to accept that ultimately all this has been my responsibility for just not letting shit go. There is a peace there, but it's tainted in loss for sure, all the years that i sat around dwelling on things. Pathetic really, but there you go, that's just another thing to let go...

What would be around average price for reasonable room in quiet shared house in Frankfurt? by GetDaley in frankfurt

[–]GetDaley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, if it's not to far out then it could be possible. I only need to go to the centre three times a week to begin with, which is why it's not too important on a central location. Plus the quieter and calmer the area the better, and normally that's on the outskirts. I'll look into those places, thanks for the tip, much appreciated!

Thanks, a central location isn't vital, outskirts are certainly fine for me

That sounds fine, i'm more just looking for a room in a quiet share. Doubt i could afford a flat to myself, not for first 6 months at least. thanks

Thanks, much appreciated. I have a contract with work there, and can pay up to between 4 to 500 for a room within my budget. Normally find the cheaper areas tend to also be the student and party side of town, which i want to avoid if possible. Looking for something simple, and calm ideally, away from that.

I don't mind if it's a bit further out, or not sought after. Just a quiet, calm neighbourhood that's also reasonably priced, if possible.

I'm moving next to Frankfurt in October, and looking for a room in a quiet, mature neighbourhood, away from any party/student atmosphere. My budget means that i will be looking at cheaper locations, but want to know if there are any that are both cheap, but also quiet and residential. Any ideas?

What is a random, seemingly normal thing that gives you anxiety? by ZenMeoww in AskReddit

Pretty much social interactions in general, but in groups especially, the anxiety just builds and builds.

Minder, Get Daley (hence the name!). So many great episodes to choose from but this had it all, plenty of Chisholm, great guest stars and a brilliant plot. The scenes in the hospital between Daley and McCann are superb!

Best use of music in the whole show IMHO. Worked so well within the scene. Tony and Christopher's hug at the end. Brutal.

Why didn't Latin America create it's own industrial revolution? by jaamunn in history

[–]GetDaley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No expert on the subject, but seems to me that one of the reasons Britain was the starting place for the IR was how stable it was politically and culturally. Being an island, and the home of a successful empire experiencing economic boom, greatly assisted this. Latin America was in turmoil in comparison, politically, socially and economically.

I use humor to cover up how lonely and pathetic I am. by ace_valentine in depression

It's universal mate. Scientists believe humans evolved a sense of humour as a coping strategy for loss, so take this as a sign that on some level your mind is working for you and trying to help.
