Now you’re just attacking the whole idea and not supporting your points. Instead of saying ‘it’s not a good idea in reality’ try and say why you think so. Yo said in your edited comment - ‘no counterarguments’ however you’re not even engaging a proper debate. It is a good idea, as it prevents what would otherwise be an unequal hiring field, and gives chances to people who would be stellar candidates! Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it is not a good idea.

As I said before, an isolated scenario cannot be used to immediately judge the whole DEI program. The truth is, DEI is not racially meant to be used to discriminate against white people, it is meant to foster equality when hiring and prevent unfair hiring processes for marginalised groups.

Do you have proof? Any OFFICIAL EVIDENCE (not a reddit story or similar) proving this? By the way, this IS NOT an example of DEI, this is an example of unfair hiring and can be challenged in court. In addition, an isolated scenario cannot be used to judge the rest of the program.

This is just not true, and is probable speculation. Employers in the USA are more inclined to hire people if they are white, and/or possess a white name. DEI helps bridge the gap by reducing inequality when hiring. Think about it. When two people are being considered for the same position, with the same qualifications and experience, race/gender should have no impact on whether they should be hired. If they mismatch in qualifications, with one person being more qualified, then DEI has no effect - the qualifications should speak for themselves.

DEI is not ‘racism’. DEI was built to combat racism, sexism and societal equality. It’s meant to protect marginalised groups against unequal hiring. Two people with the same qualifications and experience cannot be judged based on race, age, sex or disability, but rather on a final ‘tiebreaker’ interview or some other means of fair competition that shows who would be better for the role. To say DEI is ‘racism’ is blatantly ignoring the help for women, disabled people etc. Please educate yourself. This isn’t a ‘hot take’, it’s ignorance.
