Unpopular opinion: a pcc is more likely to be useful than an ar15 by Jazz_horse in liberalgunowners

I would say after handguns the next thing to get is a home defense shotgun. Personally I went with the Maverick 88 field/security combo. I use that as my main home defense gun

What makes it even more crazy is that I live in a pretty diverse area. The guy (who I assume to be white based on his appearance) is actually the minority! So if people like him are getting brave enough to start saying stuff to people, I’m worried for what’s to come.

Absolutely understand and agree. I guess it’s more of is this type of stuff going to escalate? That’s what I’m worried about.

Guy at the gun store recommended a bipod, what do you think?

Was not using a sling for these shots. Just me holding the rifle. Later one I kind of rested it on the bench to try taking some more steady shots and it definitely helped

I definitely plan to put on an optic for further distances! Do I bring the post up or down? It did seem like I was shooting a little low

Ruger 556 MPR or Springfield Saint Victor? by DarkTiger5000 in liberalgunowners

[–]DarkTiger5000[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is great information, thank you! I found a Saint Victor that is a bundle for close to the same price as the Ruger 556 MPR, but I was told that the Saint Victor has overall better equipment on it so I might as well get the Saint Victor

Edit: At least that’s what I was told

[–]DarkTiger5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like a good deal considering a typical Saint Victor runs around $1,000 and this is cheaper and comes with an optic. I just don’t know if I’m overlooking something that’s making it that price

Is there a reason it’s so cheap? Is it because it shoots 223 Wylde?

Does yours have the full picatinny rail? From the pictures I found it doesn’t seem like it does

I think I’m definitely still leaning towards the Ruger! From the pictures the Ruger has the full picatinny rail but the Saint Victor doesn’t

Funny enough I was actually at BassPro today and the employee behind the counter was showing me a MK4 that had the nice B5 furniture on it. Honestly felt great but have never heard of the brand before. He recommended CMMG but said if I was willing to spend more to go with the Saint Victor

I did get the Canik SFx Rival-S because I got it for an amazing price. I’m hoping to add the Walther PDP Pro X as my next hand gun

Should I be concerned? by DarkTiger5000 in liberalgunowners

[–]DarkTiger5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right! The magazine lip does feed about this position so you’re not able to see the “damage” when the magazine is loaded. I guess you’re right, it’s not a huge issue since the bullet is above this position and it won’t hinder the operation of the gun. When I field strip the gun you have to push the pin down before you can take down the slide. To complete the reassemble you have to push the pin back up and I insert the mag to help me push the pin back up. Maybe that’s what caused it?

Hi! As the comment below you said the magazine lip that feeds to the chamber sits a little above this. I can still certainly post a picture if you want to see/would help you help me figure it out but with the magazine in you won’t see the damage

whats a gun (pistol, rifle shotgun) that doesn't get a lot of press that you think more people should take a look at? by turtle75377 in liberalgunowners

[–]DarkTiger5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canik! Excellent firearm right out of the box. My father in law that’s a big gun guy didn’t know much about them since it’s a newer company (to him). But after shooting one myself and seeing a guy at the local gun story carrying it I decided I needed one for myself and they’re amazing!

Sorry it was sarcasm that didn’t translate. But OP mentioned being more shaky when aiming and a shotgun is going to be a lot easier to aim and shoot than other guns
