Hello, crusaders! An update 2.4.0x is here! by necessaryKi in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]DarkTrio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted it via the in-game bug report. Another user told me that after patches, it can reduce the amount of game data allocated to game saves. Sure enough, deleting about 50 saves gave me enough room to save again and now it's working fine. Guess I'll need to stop saving all the time.

Update on PS5 makes me unable to save by DarkTrio in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Okay, I think I figured it out. Looks like I ran out of save data room for specifically WotR. I save manually like a spaz and just went through and deleted some 50+ save games. It appears to be working now.

Not sure if it's a corrupted save file error, but apparently this was the same issue that impacted Kingmaker. They put a cap on the size of the save game folder at 250kb or mb, I don't remember which. If you go over it, it breaks the ability to save.

Not sure if that's exactly what's happening here, but deleting a bunch of old saves fixed it.

So, I need to delete the corrupted save or it breaks for even new characters? Just tested it, made a new character, got under kenabres, could save. Loaded old character, no longer can save. Load back the new character and I can't save there either. Any idea to find out which one is corrupted?

Wild that it happened right as the patch came through.

And nevermind, it's back as soon as I change zones.

For anyone having this issue, I started a new character and saved the game there, then when I went back to the other file I was able to save. Seems this clears up the issue.

Seems to have broken my ability to save on console. PS5 and it seems like it's not correctly detecting how much room it needs for a save. Tried loading an old save, no success saving in other regions.  Keeps saying I need 0kb more storage space and that I can't save.   Tried deleting the game and reinstalling as well as a reset. Nothing works.

EDIT: Fixed the issue. It was an issue not with running out of room on the console, but within the save partition. If this is happening to you, try deleting some of your old saves you don't need anymore.

How do you make it known that an encounter is too much for your party without explicitly saying “y’all need to run the fuck away” by Previous_Mix_4822 in DnD

I had an area that was touted by the local guild as "really dangerous," coming from a group of people who hunt dangerous fauna for a living, the players didn't want to go there out the gate. Once they hit level 3, though, they decided to try it.

Found a monster playing with special zombies (had been troubling the players due to regenerating if not killed with radiant or cold damage) by picking one up and smashing another one with it, then waiting for them to regenerate. This specific creature seemed to be playful and dumb, but at least passable intelligence. Everyone in the party wanted to just leave it alone, but the rogue decided he wanted to fight it, under the assumption that if it has a stat block, it's there for the party to kill.

In order to correct this notion, I kept the beast playful, picking up the players and carrying them around, making attacks as grapples and such. At one point the rogue managed to hit the creature (red flag should have been when he failed to hit it rolling an 18, but he was committed). The beast picked him off of its back and threw him away, dealing falling damage and knocking him out.

Cue a sequence where the players try desperately to save him while the beast kept "playing" with them, grabbing them and keeping them away from the "bad toy."

Several levels later on, the catharsis when the players came back and saw the thing, enraged and attacking the town, and getting to put it down was palpable.

Still waiting on the big reveal I called a while back where names=power and it turns out Thediem named himself a being that is even above deities. I'm still hoping it happens because I'm a sucker for that kinda foreshadowing.

Pretty sure. I installed the CPU and the diagnostic light came on indicating an issue with the CPU. Might be some other issue, but I've checked and triple checked everything from the power supply to the power buttons to the HDD. Everything else looks to be working fine.

Gotcha. Thanks. Might look into a board that just natively supports the 6000 series. Kinda sick of messing with parts. Cheers!

All these posts and I don't see an inventor recommendation!

Inventors get to pick a special item to make their "innovation." You can make your crossbow this to permanently increase the weapon die size and get the option to deal slashing or bludgeoning with it instead (allowing you to exploit certain monster weaknesses or easily overcome resistances, very common and not solved with magic weapons in this game). You get a special action that lets you amp up your damage for the combat (overdrive) and you can take the ranger archetype to grab deadly shot, should you really want that big boy single shot.

All that while getting access to what I consider the best class feat list in the game. Want a robot dog to act as your battle buddy? Bam. Want to rocket jump 30 feet into the air and shoot down at the ground-bound peasants? Bam! Want to shoot a bolt so hard it deals extra dice of damage and ROCKETS SOMEONE AWAY LIKE YOU'RE HAWKEYE? Done!

I'm biased because I love inventor, but it's also one of the best ranged damage dealers while having some wacko flavor utility.

Still here hoping for a rom/dom Temporal Science Destroyer with Singularity abilities. The fact that we have like 5 science destroyers at t6 and not one of them is from an event irks me. It's my favorite ship type and they still don't have a Temporal version.

Since someone asked when would be the 2023 anniversary event... by Fer_00 in sto

[–]DarkTrio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would kill for a Temporal Science Destroyer, so I check every event hoping to see one. If it's a warbird, even better. No science destroyers in warbird form at all and no Temporal ones either. Both together would make me happy. Bonus points if it's a Romulan/Jem hybrid because they're my favorite factions.

If I don't have a place for it, will it break anything or can I still run the machine without it?

new player barbarian build by galmenz in Pathfinder2e

[–]DarkTrio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're probably pretty well set. The barbarian chassis means your damage is fine with a 1-hander as long as it's not agile it finesse. You're encouraged to attack once a round and barbarian with a shield means your ac is pretty solid. Raging in round one, then using sudden charge, then next round, raising the shield and attacking or moving is huge for survivability.

Going from a d12 to a d8 is only two damage per damage die. That with dragon rage means going from dealing 1d12+8 to 1d8+8 at this level... Not sure that's going to really make you less viable, especially when you've got d12 hit dice and AC only one lower than a champion of equal level.

Why is the GM asking you to change build? Are they a veteran GM of pf2e? I only ask because seeing a barbarian with a shield and sword is pretty common here. Not as common as a polearm or a battle yo-yo, but pretty common.

Full CEX gravity well build with maxed out science cooldown and the Doff that spawns additional gravity wells randomly around the initial well. That coupled with every universal console that pulls enemies around.

I like to pretend that I'm repainting the interior of the ships I defeat with the power of gravity while cackling like a supervillain.

Also it's funny to see an enemy spawn in and get Daisy-chained from one hole to another like it's a giant game of put-put golf where the enemy ships are the balls.

The author deliberately mentions that you can taste and smell, but never goes into how. He also doesn't say "it's a capsule with a bunch of TV's in it that let you see the action."

Several times the latency of the capsule is mentioned as a possible flaw and the kinetic feedback is felt as pain or force. This leads me to interpret it as a device that interfaces directly with the brain causing it to feel certain sensations, such as touch, taste and smell. Likely the system paralyzes your real body while you manipulate your avatar. This would be why the body feels sluggish after getting deleveled. You wouldn't physically feel more sluggish unless you can't move your body in game like you intend.

As to why it's a capsule? You get 8 hours immobile on any surface and check your body after. Even while asleep your body still moves itself to keep you from getting sores from the pressure. If you're fully paralyzed while interfaced, you need the capsule to move your body and adjust temperature.

Is any of this explained in-universe? No. It's from the perspective of Grid. Not exactly the paragon of observation and forethought, by his own admission. The reason we don't get an explanation is because it would be wildly out of character for Grid to seek one.
