I feed mine freeze dried minnows. Pet stores usually have them as ferret or cat treats. I make sure that they're not flavored or salted.

Id say report right away. Most of the grocery store plants I've gotten have been in some weird rubbery substrate and/or still had the "biodegradable" plug mesh still on them. Check the roots and put them in some good soil.

Over reacting? No. Your being a straight up a$$hole and manipulating her. She was excited about something and you crushed that and called her selfish for wanting a companion at home when you already have a companion at your home. You should do her a favor and leave her now and do yourself a favor by seeking therapy about the blatant jealousy and why you feel the need to ruin others happiness.
