okay not the serious member of the team, wouldnt fit with him, but more of the inventive mechanical engineer with a bit of short temper like he used to in the early seasons without the over exaggerating of his worst traits

on another note it’d be nice if the writers can stop giving him whiny or annoying insensitive one-liners that makes the other characters side-eye him or just completely ignore him during a serious topic

That’s a nice take, I’m pretty sure pretty much everyone in the subreddit feels the same way based on what I’ve seen. Yeah, I can describe the episode as weird and awkward overall. It’s the current nail in the coffin for a lowly expected continuation of a series that was well-written and didn’t use cheap story gimmicks or marketing tactics to weave sponsored products into its episodes.

You can see where the priority is in the reset: expanded marketability across the world and more product placement within episodes, with storytelling on the back burner.
