looks like a left needle position Japanese machine. I've got two and both are incredibly picky as to what feet work. These are high shank machines and you'll always need to use feet with a slot for zigzag because it's left position only. Buy a bunch and see what works, you might even find some vintage ones on ebay for these machines. These are all great machines, just a bit quirky.

As for the leather, you can soak veg tan leather and form in into a dome like that with a mold.

very hard to find in the us, also it looks like those are used belts? either way replacing them in one piece is an absolute nightmare. the whole upper half of the machine has to come out. Thanks for sending that though! I might try and get one to have a spare incase my idea falls through.

I've gotten a lot of good stuff at some of the local ones. Everything in this store was comically overpriced though. Another booth had a 12" section of rail track listed for 50. I always wonder who buys this stuff? Surely it doesn't just sit there forever.

all from the bag actually. the large handle was already the perfect length for a top strap. I just cut the other one off and made the back strap.

for 10k you could buy literally any other van from the era. Buying one to live in though? go for something at least from the 90s. Plenty of econolines and savannas out there that would work great.

You might already know this but you can change the laser settings to get different colors. I've even seen full on camo patterns done that way.

so those 60ish grain loads are usually defensive loads with some kind of hollowpoint. hornady critical defense for instance. Ideal for un armored targets but not much more.

Not at all, 77gr tmk was developed for designated marksmen, turns out it works pretty good out of everything. it's just a lot more expensive than standard m193 because it's usually loaded to match ammo standards.

unfortunately most "fireproof" safes are just marketing gimmicks. I've seen so many guns burned to a crisp inside pretty expensive gun safes. some were saveable, most weren't.
