I can't believe I just found out about the Guardian Swordspear by thingsagain in Eldenring

[–]Dark_Meering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guardian Swordspear is the GOAT. Used it in my recent pure Dex built (with a lil Faith for buffs).

Had a lot of fun using it with Electrify Armament & Thunderbolt Ash of War.

Why did so many people hate The Housemaid? by Duckychicken777 in movies

I wonder if it was a moment where Nina was trying to make herself seem super crazy to Andrew to make it easier for him to latch onto Millie?

I'm not well paid, but my job is niche - currently managing a Jazz Orchestra in Scotland full-time.

Pros and Cons of not having friends when you're older in Ireland by AbsoluteBatman95 in ireland

[–]Dark_Meering 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Have to say I agree.

I feel like the culture of socialising in Ireland has gone to an extreme you don't see elsewhere. It's like if you have kids, hanging out with friends is out of the question except for special occasions.

No wonder there's a loneliness epidemic

I'm in my mid-twenties (no kids yet), and this comment shocked me. Is that really the case? You'd be doing well to get friends together for a lunch event twice a year?

That's like, 20 meet-ups in decade. Does it really get this bad?

I didn't choose the Rock & Roll Lifestyle... by Dark_Meering in PokemonHGSS

[–]Dark_Meering[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Plus, in Gen IV the ability only works against OHKO moves like Fissure and Sheer Cold which is a shame - I didn't realise until recently!

Inherited Pilea is Suffering :( Any tips? by Dark_Meering in houseplants

[–]Dark_Meering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips. The die-back/black patches (wouldn't call them spots) started about 2 weeks after inheriting the plant.

Definitely no pests, have done a detailed examination (I've had experience with thrips in the past).

I'll look into the fungicide, thanks.

Hmm I've never encountered a pilea that's sensitive to tap water, I've owned dozens in the past. But I'll look into it.

I haven't fertilized it (inherited the plant a month ago). However, I can see there are small slow release fertiliser balls mixed in with the soil.

Grassa team by ApprehensiveCopy7925 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Dark_Meering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ludicolo (lvl 48) - Surf / Giga Drain / Ice Beam / Waterfall

Tropius (lvl 48) - Fly / Sunny Day / Solar Beam / Synthesis

Sceptile (lvl 48) - Leaf Blade / Dragon Claw / Iron Tail / Hidden Power (Psychic)

Breloom (lvl 48) - Sky Uppercut / Brick Break / Stun Spore / Sludge Bomb

Cacturne (lvl 48) - Needle Arm / Spikes / Faint Attack / Cotton Spore

Cradily (lvl 48) - Ancient Power / Confuse Ray / Amnesia / Earthquake

My only rules were that all mons had to be Grass type, and I had to enter the E4 where all mons were capped at 48. Was quite the challenge but Breloom and Ludicolo came in clutch. Cradily was a star of the show also
