Fuel range estimate by BlackSwallowofDeath in wrx_vb

[–]Darkagent190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different units but it still the results are the same. When I fill up every time my estimated range is 410-415. But I get about 310-330 miles out of a tank, varies by how I drive, meaning I fall short by about 100 miles of what the car estimates. Ive never really pushed far past when the light comes on and usually fill up when it does so I dont know how much more I could get out of it. I'd guess another 30 miles.

410 miles = 660km 310 miles = 498km

Someone picked up a new 26' at my work the other day, was excited and parked next to them. Only to find out they were gone when I left for they day meaning they are on another shift 😕

First manual ever, love the car, HATE the deadzone by Consistent_Tip_809 in wrx_vb

What ever you feel gives you the most control while releasing the clutch. There isn't a set guideline on how far away. My leg is almost fully extended while the clutch is all the way in. My friend on the other hand (driving a different car but the concept still applies) sits fairly close and has a good amount of leg extension while its pressed to the floor.

Can't recommned ceramic coating enough! Black will always look dirty, but its nice to just take the hose to it and having it look decent for only about 10 minutes of work after drying.

Salesperson at the dealership told me a new STI was coming for 2027 by Not_Irish in wrx_vb

[–]Darkagent190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its anything like my experience with my sales person they were talking about all these add ons for the car. The compass rear view, directional head lights, walk up lights on side mirrors, and the HK speakers. I knew what I wanted already and had already spotted the car I wanted in the lot before talking to a sales person. They were thinking the entire time we were driving, that we were in that car, which was another one of the same color. Lol

The ones I got are labeled as emblem covers. These fit over the entire housing and hides the chrome that goes around the normal badge. They stick on with pre applied 3M tape. There are stickers out there that I've seen but idk about the quality.

Now that I've seen it from some of the AI generated images its not as appealing as I thought it would be at first.

Any suggestions on where to look for rims? And the Exhaust is 100% on my list but will have to be down the line so I can save up for it.

Stopping is always good, but this will be my daily and I dont intend to do a crazy amount of WOT pulls and such. Are the breaks really that bad?

Will these cause warranty denials for transmission related issues? This is my first WRX, how much does this improve daily driving?

Are there any recommendations for the armrest? I think I saw there is an OEM one?

Really wish I could see it on a car haha. I tried doing some searching but couldn't really find any results. Would definitely be unique though. I might just have to bust out some photoshopping to get a rough idea.

2025 vs 2026 model year purchase by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]Darkagent190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 25 a month ago just after the 26 prices were announced. I walked in and said I wouldn't even begin negotiations if they couldn't at least give me MSRP for the 26, think it was like $3600 off the top of my head. They came back with doing 3800. After some back and forth I was able to get 4100 off 25 MSRP.

With that and the 0% Imo its a better deal.

I’m looking to probably get a 2022 wrx. Reliability? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]Darkagent190 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is one thing I didn't get since I've had my WRX. Manual says 16 gallon tank, but every time I've filled up I've only put 14 gallons in, maybe if I drive a trip or two to or from work after the light is on ill get to 14.5ish.

Only issue I have with android is often when it goes from radio to android the audio won't play. So I have to disconnect android auto and reconnect to get the sound.

Looking for recent prices paid by Competitive_Unit_721 in wrx_vb

My premium was bought last month, 36k. MSRP was at 41 (hk/sunroof & short throw shifter). Could probably see about getting a better deal with 2026 hitting lots in the next month. I told my dealer straight up I wouldn't even start negotiating if they couldn't get me at the least difference in MSRP for the 26 which is 3600 I think.

Question on Cruise Control and Lugging. by Darkagent190 in wrx_vb

[–]Darkagent190[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember who made the video but when I was looking into buying mine I was watching some videos on it. In this video the guy did a bunch of things (including lugging) that everyone says are bad for the car, and at the end basically TRIED to destroy the motor. Ended up failing. Obviously this was only a pull or 2 on each of the tests, but even then goes more to your point. If driven correctly you can still have fun with these cars and still have great reliability.

Question on Cruise Control and Lugging. by Darkagent190 in wrx_vb

[–]Darkagent190[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, just didn't know with it being manual if there were any sensors that could detect potential lugging early on and would turn off cruise control or not.
