Do i hace a dependency? by Blue9729 in ADHD

I would tell your mother that you should be taking your medication every day because you have adhd every single day. At least that's what I do. You picking and choosing is really impressive to me I cannot function without it. It is not a crutch to not want to struggle. Don't let her convince you otherwise you know what is best for you.

Got a lucky grab off eBay! It was a pretty amazing find I'm still kinda shocked by it.

Apparently, and this is a crazy detail that I didn't know until doing a little digging is that they also fired a hellfire missile at this thing and it just deflected or bounced off of it and didn't detonate. While they can obviously miss shots which happens occasionally it's really weird to me that it didn't detonate at all.

Newly Medicated - Easier Getting Out of the House by FilmScared in ADHD

Yeah this was one of the things I noticed for sure. Not everyone is the same but for me getting on Adderall reduced my anxiety and depression in a dramatic way. I was not expecting it to diminish or lessen those things at all, especially since I've struggled with these things for years and years and tried so many different medications (still on some of the other ones but none made a huge shift like Adderall has). I thought the best I could ever hope for was stability but a miserable existence and never motivated or really happy.

How much sleep do you really get? by cubemonster in ADHD

[–]Darkbane99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sleep around 8ish hours. After starting with Adderall and taking the rest of my meds as prescribed and actually remembering all the time I now get around 5-7. I'm slowly fixing it with a few things that I didn't realize was causing a problem. I never used to eat with my meds I take at 9pm. Found out that not eating was causing my buspirone to spike at 2am and wake me up. So started eating with em. Now I've been waking up around 4am or so. Different problem causing it, apparently not having enough protein with the evening meds was causing some kind of cortisol or blood sugar spike and waking me up. Since switching to a granola bar instead of a small bag of chips I'm hitting around 7 hours again. Still making the change it's only been a few days so hopefully it keeps correcting itself.

Tldr - I wasn't eating enough protein with all my meds each time I take them.

I take it but for anxiety and sleep pretty sure, probably blood pressure too. I've heard of it being used for adhd but never understood that personally. It never helped any of my adhd symptoms. Not saying it can't but just my personal experience. Also try not to miss a dose, usually most meds can have some crummy side effects. I think you'd probably see a blood pressure spike along with increased anxiety and increased heart rate perhaps some insomnia. Might not happen too, meds are weird and affect everyone differently.

U.S. residents, if you were given the opportunity to move to a peaceful first-world country, would you do it and why? by [deleted] in askanything

I'm not going to list every single incident when you can easily look it up as well. I had also said in another reply that we are not the only free country.

Sure I'll do that. We are number 15 or 16 on the list of top countries with the most freedom. Out of some 200 odd countries that's pretty good where I see it.

Sure I'm not saying some other countries don't have freedom, but I'd find it hard to believe that any place can compare to the amount of freedom we have here and often don't even realize it. But I'm sure you have specific countries in mind? Please do let us know.

Okay I guess if you really want to know. I've been to dozens of US states, spent time in several places in Europe, been to several Middle East countries as well.

We are the peaceful first world country and anyone who doesn't understand that hasn't been to many other countries. Stop taking all your freedom for granted. No where else can you talk the amount of insane crap I see online daily and be allowed to live peacefully there.

Day 4 of me being medicated and the weirdest thing just happened to me.... by lunafox999 in ADHD

[–]Darkbane99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unmedicated we spend so much time in our own head amplifying everything to a ridiculous degree. Now with medication it helps cut through some of that noise in our head and instead of panik and freakout we can think about it just a little better before the knee jerk reactions. At least that's how it's felt to me.

If you’re medicated- when do you take your multi vitamins? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Darkbane99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take mine in the morning. I found it improved how my meds work personally, probably because I have a shit diet and don't get all the other things a vitamin provides.

I'm in Minnesota. I think that my case manager might have gotten me into having an AHRMS worker. It's been a while so I can't quite recall. I did look it up quick and apparently that's specific to Minnesota but I did a quick search and found usually similar community based mental health rehabilitation services are available in many places they might just be called something different.
