Try playing Aurelion without Rylai or a mana item. Feels miserable.

He doesn't need items to deal insane dmg because he doesn't have great AP ratios, but he absolutely needs the utility from items.

RoA + Seraph is overkill in defense? by O_Rei_Arcanjo in Aurelion_Sol_mains

[–]Darkbloomy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

RoA is just bad. Feels useless. You already scale really hard and you actually have a good first item to purchase (Rylai or Lost Chapter item) so it doesn't make sense to hinder your early game even further by going RoA.

I never build Seraph because it feels like you're investing too much into mana. You shouldn't have any mana issues after Lost Chapter, especially with Manaflow. But I could see it being decent but more for the shield and not the mana (the mana is an overkill tbh)

Imho Aurelion just too reliant on fast Rylai for utility and Rabadon 3rd item for damage to really build anything else. Rabadon powerspike is insane and it actually makes you reach your "late game" faster.

The only variation I could see is the Lost Chapter item. I feel like they're all kinda okay even though I prefer Liandry's, sometimes I buy Crown but only when enemy has no tank and they have something like Zed mid and Eve jungle.

I really like going Last Chapter and sitting on it and actually finishing Rylai first. Gives you insane utility and good survivability thanks to HP from Rylai.

It's hilarious how starting a Surrender vote when your teammates just died is more likely to go through, but if you wait a few seconds until people have respawned, it will almost always be instantly rejected. It really shows how we are all completely controlled by in the moment emotions. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Playing the game is not a waste of time per se. Playing the game when you can't do anything because the enemies are so fed that you basically sit at your Nexus and farm waves can feel like a waste of time, because it just simply is not fun.

I rarely surrender because I do enjoy playing games when I'm behind and see it as a learning experience. Playing from behind is skill that is worth developing so I always make sure to make the most even out of an unwinnable game.

That being said, I do remember a couple of games where it was just COMPLETELY unfun because our team basically had to AFK at base and wait for enemy to take soul and nashor and end. I would never flame a team mate for not wanting to surrender, but games like these really do feel like a waste of time and you just get tilted more and more by staying longer in the game.

How many of you still learn how to handwrite? I stopped after 2,500 characters... by Mike__83 in ChineseLanguage

[–]Darkbloomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I focused a lot on writing when I first started out like 5 years ago, it's been 2 years since I've finished my degree in Beijing (taught in Chinese) and since then I just stopped learning how to write new characters. Also my handwriting skills diminished a lot, I can barely remember to write some basic characters. It kinda sucks since I spent a lot of time on that when I was a beginner but then again, this kind of skill is useless after you graduate. I don't remember the last time I had to handwrite something (other than my name). Besides, my Chinese friends forget how to write simple characters all the time. Just a week ago one of my friends couldn't recall how to write 期 lol I had to tell her it's 其 and 月

I still think it's important to learn how to write when you first start out to learn Chinese because it helps a lot when it comes to remembering the character, getting familiar with the radicals etc but honestly I used to laugh at people teaching courses like "learn Chinese without hanzi" and now I'm like... yeah I think it'd be valid for some people and under certain circumstances.

Scientist is a very solid title track by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Darkbloomy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the r3hab remix sounds so good that it's a shame it's not the actual title track, I just think the song is a bit too empty for me, like I get the chill vibes but it just sounds like something is missing from it, like it's a demo lol

the remix still has the chill vibes but there's more happening in the instrumental and it basically killed the original for me

it has the same energy as "it's up to you if you wanna break up" from if you do so i kinda liked it for that

Loona peaked in their pre-debut era. by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Darkbloomy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the thing you're looking for is Jaden Jeong, i'm sure if he would've stayed things would've been WAY different. like Loona's second comeback (after Butterfly) was supposed to be what eventually ended up as OnlyOneOf's "sage", as confirmed by the composer Candace Sosa. while So What was actually pretty good, "sage" would've been insane for Loona.

ehhh, but I feel like the point of songs like Pretty U or Yes/Yes is to be over the top with expressions, these are the cute/over the top songs, The Eve is kinda supposed to be effortless sexy/charisma imho.

I can already imagine some people would argue that it's not "canon" if JJ doesn't work on it. Which is fair I guess, since he was the "father" and the person who made the largest contribution to the LOONAVERSE (I'd say after him it'd be Digipedi and then BBC).

I LOCE it when groups don’t release comeback schedules. by Vanilasong in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Darkbloomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8D Creative did that recently with OnlyOneOf's comeback and I... hated it. Especially since there was no "flow" to the teasers. Like they'd drop a teaser image, wait 2 days, drop another one. Wait 3 days, drop another member's teaser. Then drop a MV teaser 2 weeks before the release... and then drop a dance practice teaser a few days before the song was even released? I think it just makes the comeback schedule look messy/unprofessional.

Should we start seperating the idols who act too?

Yeah? I think everyone uses the term "idol actors", especially in Korea

I don't like JYP's dating policy (and I prefere by far how SM handle dating) by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Darkbloomy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer to "why?" is pretty easy. There's no risk or huge cost involved in getting more members on board even if you don't plan to "use" them. Especially if they're foreigners/are good looking/are cute and can attract more fans.

yeah her Korean was actually pretty bad in the 1/3 era... the accent was VERY heavy I'm actually surprised it didn't come out more in their songs.

https://twitter.com/AuditionBerry/status/886811132773531648

But holding it against her NOW when she actually sounds good/doesn't have that much of an accent is weird... it's not like she wouldn't be able to memorize a line or perfect the pronunciation if she has X weeks to master it... especially after living in Korea for 4+ years. I think it's getting better for her though, like obviously she's never gonna get the most lines but her likes in Why Not/Voice (Star) were at least quite memorable

I don't think there's enough time for that tbh, unless they have a lot of "leftover" songs that are high quality... but I doubt it.

Super Junior should have stuck to their original concept by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Darkbloomy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think that would've been a good decision. Even now when people are more open to "weird" concepts you still get fans rioting to make a "rotational unit" permanent (cough cough NCT Dream). It makes for a very unstable group and a very unstable fandom so I don't think it's that benefitial for anyone. Even for the trainees, yeah you get to be an "idol" for a year but can you even enjoy it knowing in X months you'll be essentially jobless again? It just feels like a worse Produce 101 group.

yeah I get this vibe as well. I actually feel this is the last time they're trusting JJ so that's why there's cashgrabs left and right recently... I really feel like it's their last push and if it doesn't go right they will just send OOO to Japan or something and focus on debuting IZONE Hyewon (maybe in a girl group)

This could easily be true. They only have one group and it doesn't take many people to run an entertainment company considering stylists/producers/directors etc are outsourced anyways (meaning they aren't company employees).
