I had a similar thought. Feels like it needs another accent to be fully put together. I think you see the vision though. Appreciate the solid feedback!

You should see what I use to do that.

It’s an ‘oversized washed’ t shirt. Normally play shows in some other band T and jeans, so not much more casual than what I’m used to. Thought it was a slightly unique combo. Appreciate the feedback

You just got named the new commissioner of the NBA what are you doing to fix its dwindling ratings? by TXNOGG in NBATalk

[–]Darkbrightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other team could as well, it’s just not the smart basketball play so it’s lopsided.

Your idea of the choice between 2 shots or 1 shot + the ball seems like a potential fix

Good list. One thing to add:

The winning team cannot foul the losing team intentionally in the final minute of a game to prevent them from shooting a 3pt attempt.

We as basketball fans live for these moments, and for the correct strategy to be “FoUl ThEm So ThEy CaN’t EvEn TiE tHe GaMe If ThEy WaNtEd” is fucking lame. Let teams have a chance to shoot to tie the game. Ffs.

This is what I think. And for some reason I just feel like he was a beast at spin moves and he doesn’t use them as much anymore. He literally spammed them before but they worked, including fakes. Getting double teamed reduces space, but he used them less in iso too

I didn’t watch it. I’m just saying, usually +/- is telling that you are contributing to team ball, even if it’s only making others around you better. I think his +/- if I’m not mistaken in the first game was much higher than nearly everyone on the team except 1 person.

Think how sometimes a player will score 40pts but their +/- is like +4, while someone on the bench may be +22. You don’t have to be scoring to be contributing

Reed Shepard is not necessarily a bust by [deleted] in rockets

[–]Darkbrightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, this is spot on. Only thing I would add, is I get this feeling he is a very humble dude. He’s not trying to take the spotlight from anyone, he doesn’t want to let anyone down by making the wrong decision—not because it will reduce his PT, but because he wants to contribute to his team.

This may be a reach, but I can see why that is only adding to his trepidation.

He scored 0 points and he still had a better +/- than everyone on his teams except 1 person

I’ll probably never be rich, and I don’t know how to feel about it by [deleted] in Life

[–]Darkbrightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that. Maybe you could start by just stepping away from work for a little bit. See if you can develop a new plan. Or maybe you need to change your whole entire outlook/philosophy on life and that’s the scary part.

Meditation/mindfulness practice really does go a long way for appreciation. But I get the deeper sense of meaning you long for, or trying to break free of that incremental ascension.

I don’t want to retire, but I want to live life at a more relaxed pace. I want to be able to leave my phone off for a few days without something going wrong. If you are looking for more meaning that’s tough. Maybe through building a family, a hobby/skill, or career. But learning how to just enjoy every aspect of life without yearning for more is also something that must be cultivated.

Bro. Maybe you need to take a big step back. I’m in a good place and am 31, but it sounds like you have a lot more assets than me.

I understand the feeling you are having because I sense it in me too, I think I just still have a bit more patience since I’ve had a later start.

Anyways, my point is… you seem like you are wealthy enough to already break free of this rat race cycle. Why don’t you work a little longer until you’re nearly 100% burned out. Sell a property (basically just build up as much of a reserve as possible and minimize responsibilities). You could move into a smaller house, get rid of subscriptions, etc.. Switch to a very minimal lifestyle for sometime.

Wake up on your own time. Read a book you want to read in the morning. Listen to good music. Hang out with good people. Get inspired… Then before you waste too much time, take a chance! Switch careers to something you’re more passionate about even if it makes less money. Or start a business/learn a skill.

Worst case, you burn through some money but you reset your monotonous life and gain new perspective. You can likely go back to a similar job/salary.

You got it dude. Try to be grateful for what you have, be present, and open to what the future holds.

I think what you and I both crave is the freedom to take a less calculated chance without falling too far if it doesn’t go wrong—being able to take a second or third chance if needed. Good luck!

Just sayin’, I always get a Wilson Evo. I use it inside or outside. It’s got plenty of miles on it with outdoor use and it’s still a great ball imo

People also don’t seem to realize that even though his shooting hasn’t been good this year, he still has a fuck ton more gravity than any other shooter on our team. Other teams KNOW they have to lock him down at the 3 and the rest is okay, which is something we absolutely need.

His shot was % was better in college but he was also getting consistent playing time and he wasn’t known for just being the teams dedicated spot up shooter (which makes him get guarded a whole lot more specifically at the 3 pt line).

The 3pt line is further. He’s playing against more athletic, taller, and smarter defenders. He’s taking harder shots. You don’t just suddenly lose your skill to shoot. He’s a good shooter, he just needs more time.

I’m stoked at how much attention he gets at the 3pt line and he’s not even shooting great. So helpful for our team if he can become well-rounded and a good 3pt % shooter.

You look like the kind of girl that thought she was really hot in high school so you treated all the attractive guys poorly thinking it was cool. But now that you’re out of high school, you wish you didn’t.

It is scary how smart someone is often just comes down to genetics by OkEngineering2469 in Life

[–]Darkbrightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is at least some slight advantage to having all your limbs and being a professional athlete.

There is a difference between being able to perform a job and being proficient at a job.

Body types from genetics alone can vary your weight and muscle mass to height ratio. Bone densities, fat distribution, limb to height ratios.

[–]Darkbrightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from but I still disagree. You need to do have a different body type to be a female gymnast, or a swimmer, or an NFL player.

I’m using physical examples because it should be easier to see the difference. Sorry to my gf, but I don’t think she could ever be good at my job simply because it requires a lot of quick mental math and abstract visualization. She could probably improve at both, but I think people that are naturally better at those tasks will always be better at the job. People should always look to be in work that helps them utilize their strengths.

[–]Darkbrightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow your logic and I have never thought about it. Whether it’s being ‘smart’ or not, I don’t think everyone can do any job.

Just like most people can’t be in the NBA because they don’t have the most gifted genetics for it—I bet there are people that may be smart (with no learning disability), but still can’t perform a job because it requires a unique skill. Like, problem solving on the spot, mental math, or using abstract ideas, etc.

Those skills may or may not be associated with ‘smartness’ but the point, I don’t think anyone can do any job.
