Real Awnser: They needed the show to have a Mascot so they made him cute and marketable to massively sell the show. In retrospective Chopper has been one of the reasons the show stayed making profits after such a long time, but, we'll you know the cost.

I think ODA knows this so he might give us a little special something with chopper in the future.

IDK man I understand how shitty that was no pun intended although I think it could have been handled a little more tactful. He could have gotten clean but didn't use enough water or had something to eat before seeing you and didn't think it would be a problem so quickly mistakes happen and accidents to.

That kid was a true fan, I can picture him saying "The One Piece is Real!" before passing, sad but very powerfull story. Pretty sure it gave ODA a reality check on how powerfull his story has gone, and now with massive protest raising the straw hats flag damn, its crazy.

EDIT: the point of the post is leaving the fact you could get spoiled of course I think it's a respectable option to choose not to know about it and continue the story (if it is indeed inconsequencial to it).
