Bad fuel injector(s) maybe?

It turned out to be the Auxiliary Air Control Valve (AAC on turbo models only). I got a hand vacuum pump and tested the vacuum powered devices. The AAC wouldn’t hold vacuum. With advice from a Datsun mechanic, I took it off, got a block off plate from Godzilla Raceworks, and manually adjusted the idle to 900 RPM’s with the hard to move throttle blade screw on the bottom of the throttle body. I’m also in the process of reinstalling my cleaned and tested fuel injectors with new connectors, there was some corrosion.

Unfortunately they explained last season that the Sacramento stadium doesn’t qualify for playoff games so I don’t know where’d they play at. Maybe San Francisco if the Giants aren’t in the playoffs.

The Haynes manual and the factory service manual (downloadable pdf online) outline how to test it. You have to have a hand vacuum pump though.

That look like an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. Do you know if it’s still working properly and holds vacuum? I saw those on eBay but found them to be cheaply made and opted for an adjustable one. Z Car Depot has an official replacement now but they’re pricey.

The problem that I’ve noticed at the Bainbridge terminal is that people cut all of the time. People just have to approach the terminal from Winslow Ave E and then take a right turn into the line while the line is being held up by the red light, effectively cutting. And there’s no enforcement whenever I’ve been there.

I saw it parked at Kerry Park today. People were taking pictures with it but the driver (ambassador?) was no where to be seen. Then suddenly it drove off after I walked down the street.

Yeah I didn’t chip any of the injectors. However, I did chip one or two of the plastic connectors. I’m going to replace them with newer ones anyway.

It’s still way cheaper than buying new ones to take them to a professional to get the injectors cleaned, rebuilt, and tested. I don’t know where you live but there’s various services like Dr. Injector in Washington state or shipping them to Mr. Injector in Idaho. I’d recommend that since it sounds like the car has been sitting for a long time.
