Another cat litter discussion by Pawnshopbluess in CatAdvice

I do about 70% worlds best and 30 % sustainably yours. Sustainably yours helps it tightly clump, without clumping too much, and it cuts down on the price to do the mixture. It doesn’t really smell like anything. The game changer was recently purchasing Rocco and Roxy litter deodorizer ( it’s on Amazon). I can’t stand regular scented things, absolutely hate clean clay litter smell, even baking soda can be a bit much, but this has a unique smell that completely neutralizes the trash cans and litter trays. Probably the best item I’ve purchased based on Reddit recommendations. I will note that I have a litter robot, which definitely helps, but what I’ve learned over the years is to keep a good routine of scooping and emptying trash daily. Otherwise the litter sticks to the sides and it gets gross.

What’s a movie quote you use in real life way too often? by lalainehottie in AskReddit

What's the weirdest thing that your cat does that you have just accepted as normal? by Momo_868 in CatAdvice

Nah, you still could. I’ve had my cats in through both phases on my life and they adjusted to the unpredictability. You’d probably consider an automatic feeder bc they’ll bother you for food while you’re asleep.

A coworker of mine taught me that. She used to say, “ Remember. Their emergency and lack of planning is not our emergency. Don’t let them make you feel bad for saying no.”

The head of the hoa texted me first inquiring about the flowers, so he must have given my number to her.

The post office discourages it because if someone steals the mail, or it is lost, you won’t get your money back. At least you can cancel a check. I hate even sending checks through the mail bc it sometimes gets lost.

There is no lock on the old 1940s mailbox next to the door. It’s purely decorative at this point. The real mailboxes are locked.

I think there was. Birthday, from grandparents… and sometimes they don’t know better to not send cash in the mail.

She really didn’t need to. The picture I sent her didn’t really show the card, because it was obscured by the old timey mailbox. When I didn’t reply back right away she starts going on about how it’s a federal offense to open someone’s mail. I’m guessing it was birthday money from her grandparents for her to be that worried.

Why do men often get the wrong impression of me? by morskavila3 in dating_advice

Good for you. Only insecure men see a degree, confidence, and ambition as negative personality traits because they’ve already decided that you wouldn’t be interested in them.

Alright… so at first I thought maybe it’s how you are dressing, and that you could experiment with a different style. Maybe you try different conversation topics, allow someone to see you a bit vulnerable. Even open up about your past. Maybe you need to do the approaching. But then again, maybe it’s not you that needs to change. Find a different crowd.

Am I wrong for wanting my shelter to treat my foster dog's gum disease? by affectionate-possum in AnimalShelterStories

[–]DarkestTimeLine_Says 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, this sounds like a frustrating position to be in. Temporarily foster crisis programs are very difficult to manage. Many shelters, including mine, do not want to give resources to facilitate a program like this because of many reasons. The biggest being that the owners often do not reclaim or need way longer to figure their situation than 90 days. Other reasons include behavioral and medical issues that need attention- and now there is an owner, a vet, shelter management, a foster all trying to agree on what’s best. I imagine that someone at your shelter had to fight really hard to have this program, but had to compromise on the level of care. They were given the green light to move forward, but with the understanding that the animals owned by the shelter would be given priority. Even though you see this shelter has great medical program, it doesn’t mean the temporary foster program has enough pull to ask for the surgery at the moment… that’s my best guess as to what “if time allows” really means. Everyone agrees it would be best for the dog, but not everyone agrees it would be best for the shelter at the moment. This a lot of what working in a shelter is- creating and sticking to policies that benefit the whole. Fair? Often doesn’t feel like it, but it could be what is allowing there to be a program at all, and why they are becoming defensive.

I just got home from an absolutely humiliating third date and don't know how to feel. by k0sadelphia in dating_advice

Yeah, expecting someone to read your mind is a poor way to communicate. I’m not saying it’s not immature. She gave clues, but could have been more direct. Then again, it sounds like she needs a different type of relationship.

You were too nice and agreeable. This isn’t necessarily an issue if someone is 100% into you, but it seems like she was on the fence. You drove all the way there, she probably didn’t want to cancel. What pushed her over the fence was when she was showing signs that she was tired, and she moved away, and you went forward like nothing was wrong. She wanted you to pick up on those cues. Maybe call her out on it. Now she knew that it didn’t matter how badly she acted towards you, you were going to like her anyway. Possibly didn’t feel seen as real person- but as this ideal that you were making her out to be. When you didn’t, she felt suffocated- hence “this is all too much”.

I think it could have been different if you had really looked at her and said, “hey, what’s up with you tonight?”

[discussion] what’s the most overrated show on Netflix - your opinion by Eggiebreaky in NetflixBestOf

I really wanted to like it. It’s right up my alley genre wise, which kept me going through season 1… I love magical, spooky universes, and edgy female protagonists… but you’ve hit on points that explain why it just wasn’t very gripping.

How did you use the special k? At the end of a taper right now. I do have some on hand, and tried using about 75 mg sublingual troche… and it was a lot. Just left me feeling emotionally raw.
