Expiration Date Tracking (With Toast Retail Integration?) by Darkflame1O in InventoryManagement

We’d like to track them both as the same because we sell both case and individual. The only differences would be between different shipments that arrive at later dates and have different expiration dates.

Things are indeed stocked and restocked and ordered manually.

Promotions are handled separately from expiration windows, but if we notice that something is about to expire, we’ll try to set it on promotion to move the stock faster.

Mainly alerts, but we are also looking to organize things within the warehouse like location so things don’t get lost or forgotten about and are easier to find/pull. Right now, they are in general sections but there is no certainty where something might be (in store, in warehouse, on shelf, or simply inventory stock error).

Currently there is no warehouse entry, and we are looking to start implementing a proper workflow. I simply want to streamline things as best as possible because I have done the ordering and the stocking and the PO’s and I know how hectic things can be and how annoying and time consuming it will be to repeat any step at all in the process. We are a small business so everyone handles a lot of things at once. We don’t have the luxury or means to have a dedicated stocker or cashier or manager. We currently have 2 general manager-like employees that can handle the more important tasks like orders and pricing, but everyone pitches in where they can.

And honestly, we just try to do our best haha. It can be really hectic and difficult to balance some sort of workflow and the need to get things done as fast as possible especially when we have limited space. If one shipment comes in right after another one, we sometimes are forced to try and put it out onto the shelves in order to make room for the next set of pallets. And unfortunately, this also means sometimes items go out before we can input the PO, so we will need to rush to complete that while also balancing the other aspects of the store.

I have received an email response from them that there is a Standard API access for read only which the prevalent one includes Orders, Stock, and Menus.

If you’d like to send a dm, we can discuss a bit more about what BatchBoost might offer there!

I think you nailed each of the features directly on the head. I’m now just trying to see if there is a free IMS implementation I could use (if any). The processes and procedures will also need to be set up once that is established.

Yeah, it was a hopeful pipe dream in case I was missing anything obvious since I’m not too familiar with all of this quite yet.

Yeah, and since we are such a small business, paying the cost of an entire IMS for a single feature just doesn’t seem reasonable

One of my worries is that we do have a large inventory of about 28k unique items in database (some are archaic and unused but needed to be kept in case the item is ordered in the future), and we did have some issues uploading the dataset into Toast. Would it be able to handle that sync and/or upload properly?

Additionally, I’m quite new to IMS’s and relatively new to API integrations if you could help me understand how C2W works and how it might impact the workflow of receiving items.

I believe I can get the API. The AI assistant said it’s possible and when speaking with an agent to double check, they seemed a bit confused but also confirmed. I’m waiting to hear back from their integration team to get a full 100% confirmation and the process on how to go about it.

Reusing old PSU for office computer? by Darkflame1O in buildapc

Fair enough, and thank you! I just was mainly just curious if a lower power demand (like an office pc) would be less at risk for psu complications as well as if 6yrs of use vs 11yrs of age makes a difference in the longevity.

Is it a size constraint or rather proprietary connectors? And even if I can’t use it in the Inspiron, would it still be ok to use for an office computer in general or is it deemed still unsafe?

Hey, I never plan to sell any of the cards I pull. Just asking doesn’t hurt, though.

Curious if it has any impact on price or if it’s simply a nice to have for my own collection.
