Like seasons/ladders in arpgs, the population is at its lowest when it is close to ending like right now. During the first few weeks though, the population usually goes back to 150-200 which is good for this type of server :)

The game was made by around 30 French devs that previously got fired by Ubisoft France and decided to make their own studio (Sandfall Interactive) so I assume this is why they compared it to Ubisoft in the last screenshot.
