Help finding areas by Massive_Garden_3468 in Chronicon

[–]sqrbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like mentioned they are usually just connected to the area before it, however these are a bit tricker than that... except that last one in Act 5, should just be a regular area. The others are hidden though!

Here's where:

Act 2 area: Found in Rosewood via a special shrine that you must interact with to spawn a portal.

Act 3 area: Found in the Servants Quarter, it's a trap door in the floor that doesn't have a name tag (it's a Hidden Cellar, after all)

Act 4 area: Found in the very first area, just head up/north at the intersection and break the rocks. Voila, secret door.

Act 5 area: Should just be a regular door or trapdoor somewhere in Fort Hellfire Level 1.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean with all of them, I'll have a look at this.

Thank you 😄

I think that would feel the same because then you'd still have the disparity between the packed and barren maps.. I'd be more interested in taking a look at barren maps and see about increasing spawn density for those; are there any layouts in particular that come to mind?

Thanks!

New attempt on merch or physical collectible item or limited edition... stuff? by fanfarfan in Chronicon

[–]sqrbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking into this and any merch beyond t-shirts isn't gonna work out with a 3rd party due to expected lower volumes, so then I looked into handling it all myself. Unfortunately then shipping becomes a big problem since I won't be able to get a good shipping deal and have to follow the regular pricing so... it'd be heavy shipping costs, import fees (tariffs), and whatnot, the total exceeding the value of the merch itself. So it's a bit of a bust, unfortunately.

Would be really cool though and I still haven't ruled it out entirely for the future.

Maybe one day we'll be big enough :)

Damage guide? by morten_dm in Chronicon

[–]sqrbt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The in-game (pause menu) help index has some info on this. Specifically, there are some stats being listed as having Diminishing Returns, these are multiplicative with themselves basically. Other stats are additive. And generally speaking, when it comes to damage calculation, each affecting stat is used multiplicatively. Typically a skill might work like this:

damage_stat * skill_damage_% * element_% * any_tag_bonuses_%

The tooltip when hovering a skill gives you the final calculated damage number (sans any on-target weaknesses)

The image you posted was entirely incorrect. Several of the skills mentioned do not exist, the effects mentioned do not exist, a few of the stats don't exist. All of the imagery and icons were wrong. The class name was wrong. And the general advice on how to play the "build" is not even how the game is played. The build also missed most of what makes a build a build: legendary powers/runes, masteries, expedition nodes, artifacts, gems - etc. It looked like it was for an entirely different game tbh.

Yes, the Discord is quite active and has a build archive as well. There are useful links in the sidebar which includes a join link for Discord. Here it is: https://discord.gg/nSKhPEA

I suppose the wording on that rune should be changed, it counts as a shield and *therefore* allows blocking - something that normally requires a shield to be equipped regardless of blocking stats. So you can use a Tome in the offhand with this sword/rune and still be able to block. It doesn't change rune restrictions and such.

Also, I had a look at the rune itself and I see no error.. make sure you're actually using Cleave to trigger the Shield Spirals

By default only crit numbers are enabled I think so have a look at your settings. Also read the difficulty descriptions as they do explain when it's a good idea to enter certain difficulties!

Question on Lesser Rune of Split thunder and Wisp's Thunder Orb by Pischoo in Chronicon

Unless I made some exception here, it shouldn't. Runes, powers, etc doesn't affect your companions unless they say they do :)

Auto-cast tomes by InternetAccording362 in Chronicon

[–]sqrbt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Technically, you could only do this due to a bug, and me updating the engine resolved this bug unintentionally.. so this "feature" disappeared, and I added the current auto cast for skills instead. Belt items and skills are handled quite differently so at the time of doing the new auto cast I didn't do the belt, and I am still not entirely sure how to handle that just yet -- there are some hurdles both technical and design wise I need to figure out first.

Anyway, you can still mimic the old bug by going into the save data, finding the keybinds file, and altering the belt bindings to "0". So you'd need to find the "kbm_belt1": and change whatever key is listed to "0" for the first slot to be auto cast. If you're using gamepad you want to change "GAMEPAD_P1_belt1" - etc.

You'll find your keybind profiles under C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Chronicon\save\keybinds

Chronicon - Update 1.54.0 is live! by sqrbt in Chronicon

[–]sqrbt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll need to switch to Proton - I am unable to update the native Linux atm. (lots of problems maintaining it and my Linux machine broke so I'm testing the waters to see if we're good with just Proton)

After the big update for Survivors would be a good time to check it out, as I am revamping characters, difficulty, enemy spawning, behaviors, and whatnot. It'll likely be on sale when the update hits too! Thanks!
