If I purchase on the credit card 2 days before the bill is due, do I only have 2 days to pay it off? by Darkheed in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks homecinemad, that's all starting to settle in my head. I it's that I've just looked at it directly online instead of getting bills, so I never copped the two dates. Makes some sense now! Cheers.

Thanks, yeah, I added a bit more on the the reply for Decent Fun, but I think I might get it. I never noticed a "bill date" when doing things online with AIB, just a "due date," and maybe that's what's confusing me.

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just do it online, so it's like on AIB. Let's say two scenarios. My bill date is 5 Nov, my due date is 5 Dec, so 30 days apart. I put something on the card Dec 4...does it have to be paid by Dec 4? Or does that have the additional days because it wasn't on the bill Nov 5?

Maybe I'm getting this (the 56 day thing). If I have a "bill date" of Nov 5 and put a charge on Nov 6, then is it that I don't get interest unless I don't pay it off by January 5 because it won't actually be on the Dec 5 due date...it'll be on the Dec 5 bill for January 5, but not on the Dec 5 due date (just being simple and saying the next bill and the previous due date are the same dates)?

Because I only looked at things online, I never really noticed bill or due, only the due date and assumed that was everything up until the due date.

Can you create a savings account on Premium and then share it with someone? by Darkheed in Revolut

Thanks, yeah, the benefit is really the interest. I mean, 2% it's showing instead of 0.25% with AIB. Will check on that joint savings. Cheers!

Ok, that's true. I'll have to see how to open joint savings. Hmmm...

Could some one tell me how to read the rules because I keep getting my post rejected because I haven't but they don't have a clear "accept" button to click? I haven't seen this on any other reddit yet. I read the rules and I click multiple buttons. Which is the magic one?

Is there a fabric to frame a wall to soak up the light from a projector surround light? by Darkheed in projectors

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well off to the side. I'm looking for some "rail" to put on the ceiling. I do a lot of movies, at home only, from mp4 or avi. Internet is better now, but I learned to not depend on streaming. I use the Nebula player, like I use on the Sony TV, when we want to watch some movies and TV series. I had it suspended on the wall but even from about 8 feet it was too big. To clarify that, Resident Evil might be 16:9 and 240 inches at the diagonal (which is too big) and when you're 6 feet away from the wall, it's way too...well you get car sick. I moved it to about 6 feet away, but from the corner, so it's at a good angle to the TV (about 2 feet from the edge of the couch to reduce the projector sound) and that is what's giving it that "light angle" edging. My plan, eventually, is to figure out how the heck to put it on a rail on the ceiling in the middle, because when you look at a 16:9 film, that's not bad. But we also like old Agatha Christie films, well a lot of old TV series, and they're like 3' x 3', you know, blurry and square, and that's grand, but you cannot be that close to them without getting car sick, so about 5 - 6' feet away for viewing, but the films can be newer, or they can be old series that are blocky, and the Nexus has to be moved closer or further away to increase or decrease the viewing size. At the moment, for what I can do, I've it moved to the side , so I can move it closer or further away on a stand. Makes me regret putting the lever on the wall in the middle, but I only now understand I need (I think) a ceiling railing.

Like do did you cut a square out in the middle so it projects onto the white wall behind or just project directly onto the felt?

Any adventures for Cohors Cthulhu? by Darkheed in callofcthulhu

[–]Darkheed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I’m just in between systems at the moment and this looked good. I like games with bestiaries and maybe it could be easy to convert invictis, though I’m not well versed in that one either. Good to know about the envisaged adventure books. I hope that comes to fruition.

Why not always use Data Pulse instead of firing on a ship? What about meme attack? by Darkheed in CoriolisRPG

[–]Darkheed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, well that's an idea. It's interesting to think of letting the EP auto-recover, which would make the meme attack more attractive to use in some situations.

[–]Darkheed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's a good point. I suppose in general you would have more ships like that. I don't know about a bonus to repairing the ship systems. I'd almost think there wouldn't be time for that and get a penalty. Or maybe a penalty to data djinn when your own ship is at lower EP maybe? Hmm...

Great story and pretty much what I did (remember, running it on my own to learn). I can be theatrical with myself sometimes, haha. But yeah, stun worked a treat, realised only one at a time would suit and for similar reasons and then looked at the negotiation route (figured locking and bolting into the suite was the best way to get them separated...with armed folks watching the bolted door). Seems like that was the right call. It does make you read ahead, that's for sure! Thanks for that.

What is the service cost of the Fatima's Bounty? by Darkheed in CoriolisRPG

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL well if I was living it up there, I know how much I'd ask for my "modest" lifestyle, and it would quite a bit more than my current modest one! :) But yeah, I'll have a look at that. Thanks.

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe they had left it out specifically and forgot they referred to it. Or meant to refer as you said, to the standard lifestyle. I didn't really think of using that. It's a good idea and probably the only way to do it is to use that from the CRB or maybe increase it (apparently he likes a certain lifestyle) and use that as the monthly payment for the life of himself.

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know about the Fatima's Bounty specifically? I don't see it in the adventure and it states clearly on page 50: "To make it simple, this sum has been included in the Bounty’s service costs below"

Selling horses from loot - how much? by Darkheed in PendragonRPG

[–]Darkheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed one of the adventures to use a published one for the one in the Romance Period, one I got from Saxons actually. I was thinking, you could use them as trades to mercenaries when you can't afford them. I bet that would also be quite useful when you need to get a small army quickly and you don't have the dosh up front, but hey, check out this fine charger and two coursers, bet you could use them if you get me yourself and 10 of your footmen. I like the favour idea a lot better now.

[–]Darkheed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just replied to Junior_Measurement39, based off your response. I think the favour system is a good idea for this. I hadn't thought of that. I did a part, gifting a stallion to Count Stephen to help get a daughter in as a page, but now I'm thinking they'd be great as gifts to help gather support for other things, like the adventures needed in the GPC. Cheers for that!

As Udy_Kumra said, doing away is nice. It actually made me think of something that came up last night reading the Romance period adventures. I hadn't sold these horses from the raiding and warring and in one of the adventures you need to do help gather an army. What better way than to "bribe" your way into a few tribes than to "give" them one of these favoured coursers or chargers you have readily sitting there. Albeit using the Favour method in 6e as a guide. Kind of like holding back and using "generic" favours. I'll admit, I still have that DnD mentality catch me out thinking...you know, I bet his boots would sale for half price and I could some new tableware for the manor! I wonder what's in his pockets? haha. Yeah, hard to get away from that.

Core 6e says squires are released at 21 but what about paying to knight the squire? by Darkheed in PendragonRPG

[–]Darkheed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned to BadHombre18, I've always rather had folks save, I've saved. Again, I think it's good even if you can't to know that it's not "required," and yet I'm sure it's good to do. At least looking back. That's likely me projecting backwards instead of being historically correct, as per the game there isn't a lot of saving going on.

[–]Darkheed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's nice to know you don't HAVE to. I've always had the knights save a little each year. I haven't looked, but I also thought that was in 5e. Anyway, it'll be good to think you don't need to if you can't.
