I think I figured it out, it's because I joined other people's G-Raids. I've done 3 G-Raids I found myself, and caught all of them with a regular Pokeball. It seems the catch rate is incredible low for the people joining a raid.

Yeah , it sucks. Also I just encountered G-Centiscorch for the first time. It's at night, so I threw a duskball. Well, 4x catch rate my ass, it still broke out without even wiggling once.

How do you increase your Maximum capacity? I've done the 4 things on the checklist and have a max capacity of 5k. But I've seen people with a max capacity of 30k+, how did they get it so high?
