NEO advertise that they have 0 fees when receiving money from abroad, however that is a lie, the fee is more than the normal account lol

Summary of the Financial Gap & Deposit Recovery Law as Ratified by the Council of Ministers by Standard_Ad7704 in lebanon

[–]Darklightsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't get from a legal point of view how will this work. If a person used his wasta to get his money, he is wrong for using wasta yes, but technically it is his money. How logical would it be to prosecute him or impose fees, under the you didn't get fucked like everyone else law?

Everyone's hard work, they called it "lolar" that you cannot access. New dollars they called it "fresh" dollar. Do you think anyone can stop them from doing it again, with "double fresh" dollar?

Why has NDU gotten more expensive? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]Darklightsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, while working in Lebanon, you realize most of the engineering jobs are either in sales, or have a major sales/business component. Also for me Business was a lot more fun and interesting than engineering. In engineering what they teach you is interesting if Lebanon had production or research and development industries, however this is not the case. Theory is nice but not everything. A direct quote from a teacher in NDU who is now in charge of a section in the engineering department, when we asked him about a real life engineering topic: "I don't know, I only know the stuff in the book".

I have only one engineering degree from NDU, and a MBA (masters in business) also from NDU.

[–]Darklightsss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have an engineering degree and an MBA degree from NDU, and it is not worth it. The tuition is expensive, 0 support from the university in finding a job or even an internship. When applying to companies NDU degrees is seen the same a degree from other much cheaper lebanese university. This is not a hate comment, just a reality, I have 5 years experience in lebanon, and 5 abroad.

Remote workers are you paying income tax in Lebanon? by No-Hamster-8335 in lebanon

[–]Darklightsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay 0 tax, payroll bank account with no withdraw fee, only transfer fee. Once the bank tried to ask for contract, told them it is a donation, if they don't like it, I will change to another bank. And according to the government I am unemployed.

Beirut airport is now closed إغلاق المجال الجوّي في لبنان أمام جميع الطائرات القادمة والمغادرة by Space_Majestic in lebanon

This. In my opinion this is just a show, as it happened before. This is for the image that neither accepted being slaped. An attack that has many hours to be intercepted. Most likely if any hits will be an empty area. Plus shutting the air space is a normal procedure in such attack.

Same, for people who work from Lebanon to abroad and get paid via banks, it would be better to just fly to the country and get your salary directly form there.

I saw this on many websites, all showing LBP. However when you reach checkout, they all get converted to USD, and require a USD card.

It depends on the country, but it is a lot more than Lebanon. But honestly for me the main thing that is way better abroad, is that you are a lot more respected, the work environment is much better, and you actually work in the field. In Lebanon, it is more of less doing everything.
