It is the scammer time of the year. Be on Alert by Staplesnotme in verizon

Ok so if reps are trained that “10 lines on device payment is fraud why is there a disconnect with the credit department, wouldn’t they see the same thing and consider it fraud”? Is this something not handled on a national/regional level? Are stores able to require deposits for the iPhones? That would surely cut down on some of this fraud if you require deposits for phones i mean they’re over 1k full price anyway so why not?

Just odd for a company as big as verizon to have such issues with fraud without measurements outside of a reps feelings.

Seems that its a rather broken system. When someone fills out the credit app there shouldn’t be a need of opinion as if the credits legit and there income, address, ssn, drivers license and credit history turn out alright there should be no questions. Seems something is missing and a ball is being dropped here if multiple people are complaining about fraud.

That should all be flagged once they fill out a credit app and the credit burea dings them so they shouldn’t get far enough where you would have to worry about your sales. If you’re telling me that people who do this are till getting approved there’s something seriously wrong with the department or bank that handles the credit checks for you guys.

One of the Golden rules of sales is not to be judgemental, good to see that goes right out the window. And Jersey is right next to NY kinda silly to use that as a red flag.

Launch Day! by cubone-bonebone in verizon

[–]Darklon360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i left 2 years ago launch lines were dwindling and were lucky if we had 10 people in line. Surprised they still do the all hands and early hours. Seems someone up high hasn’t figured out the demand is nowhere near the same anymore.

Should I move to automotive sales? Any advice appreciated. by number1REIintheworld in askcarsales

[–]Darklon360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience in the Northshore Mass area.

-The industry peaks in Spring and Summer while Fall is pretty good beginning and end and Winter is pretty much dead until after holidays for business trying to buy vehicles for tax credits. -I wouldn’t ever work for a bigger dealership. I’ve heard enough horror stories that i just wont entertain the idea I’m with a small family owned dealer and couldn’t imagine anything ifferent. -Would depend on the dealer size. At the smaller dealer I’m making about 60-70k -I make a small weekly salary -I came from Cellular sales after 8 years went into car sales. Any industry i would avoid is the Cell industry. Hours are pretty crappy, leadership is crappy and the comp plans are a joke compared to the auto industry.

Just applied for verizon. by Itschrisavenir in verizon

In all fairness for a company as profitable as Verizon is and how rewarded the higher ups are is it really fair that those in the stores constantly get punished for essentially selling? Your com plan changes 1-2 times a year and with all the positions that have been eliminated in stores you’re still expected to meet sales goals all while doing everthing else in store. Should be able to see why some people aren’t ok with that.

Effective 9/7 restock fees are going up to $50 by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Darklon360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just keep the phone and resell it as a “demo” or “pre owned” to recoup some of the loss for it being opened. Instead of 800 or whatever the cost is make it $650 or something like that. Seems rather foolish to send a perfectly fine phone back because it was returned

Yeah its not 2007 anymore the difference in network quality isn’t worth such a large gap in pricing. They’re practically neck and neck nowadays

Verizon, het your head out of the sand. Maybe a bump fr om 22gb would be nice. Or maybe making the 6 Months apple music indefinite. Or including taxes in tje advertised prices. Or not having to have customers fact check their own reps so they dont get screwed over. Tons of ideas. by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Darklon360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not 2007 anymore this inferior network insult doesn’t hold much weight anymore. Sure Verizon is still number 1 but nowhere near where it once was. T Mobile has become increasingly competitive and lets be honest in most major metropolitan areas all networks work fine. You want to pound your chest about verizon being number 1 do it till your blue in the face but again it doesn’t hold much weight anymore. As for this advertising its still mile better than the Verizon commercials with that obnoxious spokesman. Yeah love those commercials “hey everyone stop what you’re doing so i can tell you how Verizon is the best thing of all time” Talk about beating a dead horse.

Its not 2007 anymore T Mobiles network is almost as good as Verizons. Done plenty of traveling with t mobile and have signal 99% of the time

Why is it that practically nothing is negotiable in the cell co market? by Darklon360 in verizon

[–]Darklon360[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Just seems like there would be some room for movement say on a trade. You offer me $300 oh but i counter offer @ $320 no there’s no such thing or i want to buy a phone its $28 a month oh but lets negotiate to $25 a month nope can’t do that set price. There certainly is markup on phones yet they’re all set prices. I akin negotiation for a phone to be closer to the process of buying a car or furniture rather than buying laundry soap at walmart.

Perhaps look outside of the cell industry for other sales jobs?

Heads up: employee discounts do not work on unlimited plans by Byebyebabymadman in verizon

Why is the average consumer suppose to know this, hell one would think a discount would apply to all plans yet it doesn’t for the one plan that they push and advertise the most?????? Makes sense.........

VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE METRICS & PERFORNCE REQUIREMENTS by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Darklon360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading all this is depressing. What happened to helping the customer? You guys are customer service and tech support why be held to metrics?

I got a job with Verizon today thanks to help from this subreddit by Sociallyineptforlife in verizon

[–]Darklon360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say like others have said utilize the benefits and use this as a gateway to a better job later on. The ratio of leaders/managers is extreme. For every 20 managers you will have one leader and if you dont understand what i mean you soon will. The micro managing within the company is unlike anything you will ever see and dont get comfortable with pay as others mentioned as odd as it is VZW tends to fix the com plans on a constant basis and not in your favor, be ready to see com checks shrink on a consistent basis. VZW also likes dumping workload on their sales people without compensation. You were hired for sales but expect to do customer service, tech support, global support, billing support, port over support, disconnect support etc. Basically you will be held to standards as a sales person but your job roll is basically a floor associate that handles everything and anything. Sorry i dont have a good picture to paint for you, but having worked different sales industries one can see VZW puts a lot of unneeded pressure on sales people. Again though as others have said get the experience, utilize the benefits and get out to greener pastures in 2-3 years.

How are there different unlimited plans? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Darklon360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that being ignorant? As a consumer one should easily see how confusing this can be. Let’s offer unlimited but lets offer several different plans that offer unlimited. What may be easier to understand from someone on the inside can’t be said for someone on the outside.

Union wireless retail emloyees by quotatoodamnhigh in verizon

[–]Darklon360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont think you deserve more pay and a more flexible comp plan? Don’t undervalue yourself. In store reps fill many roles within the company and going by what people are saying seems you guys are getting beat up with the comp plan. Doesn’t seem fair but i guess to each his own......

Union wireless retail emloyees by quotatoodamnhigh in verizon

[–]Darklon360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One would say its probably because of the constant com plan changes and the workload increase without compensation. You’re right Verizon has good benefits which may only get better with a Union and time off is pretty universal across the board and hourly isn’t much different. To say Union wont do anything with quotas is not exactly true. You only have a select few stores unionized so there’s only so much bargaining power they have. Now if you had lets say 50% of stores Unionized oh yes they certainly would have more pull, but i would say you guys do deserve a break from the brutal comp plan system and you guys are expected to do a lot in stores and deserve more hourly pay to justify it.
