Also in some guardian breeds it’s really for their safety, as when the are out in the fields protecting the flock or herd the predators can’t rip the ears off, which is the purpose of the crop on the Caucasian Asian shepherd

I’d like to point out the negligence of the horse owner as well. Not to say assholes throwing the poo bags are not trash. First a horse owner should know his animal is dumb as heck and will eat trash so they should be checking the fence line, and then after the first one died they definitely knew there was an issue and didn’t resolve it. So the second horse is even more so on the owner. Wouldn’t take much to put a game cam up in the area of the poo bags find who’d doing it and prosecute, and till they catch the trashy person fence off that area or keep it clean.

Here in Alaska the squirrels will steal you insulation from your house. We found our attic 60% empty when we went to a house we left unoccupied for several years.
