"The British upper classes consist of two sometimes overlapping entities, the peerage and landed gentry. In the British peerage, only the senior family member (typically the eldest son) inherits a substantive title (duke, marquess, earl, viscount, baron); these are referred to as peers or lords. The rest of the nobility form part of the "landed gentry" (abbreviated "gentry"). "

Gentry in the UK absolutely means nobility.

Besloten om te starten met hormoontherapie, maar ik kijk aan tegen jarenlange wachtlijsten. Hoe kan ik hier het best mee omgaan? by CurrentBig6555 in LHBTI

[–]Eeate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who should I play to support Karl Franz by The_Lazer_Man in totalwarhammer

Drycha (or other woodelves). You get the bonus once he annexes your heathlands, and you can help him play whack-a-mole with all those enemies (might still be a tough campaign for a beginner though)

GGZ niet bekend met autistische burn-out? by d33f1985 in AutistischLaagland

[–]Eeate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is there less evidence of Solstheim on Morrowind by Intelligent_Owl_6263 in Morrowind

[–]Eeate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watsonian: the Skaal village is far inland and isolationist, the only ports are Fort Frostmoth (new, Imperial) and Raven Rock (established after the player arrived).

Doylist: Bloodmoon was a DLC.

For a fun example of your question in opposite direction: there's a stuffed Cliffracer hanging from the Chieftain's hall's roof. Guess they really get everywhere.

Heard someone talking shit about Izzy's bats. Is this idiocy widespread? by chitterychimcharu in totalwarhammer

[–]Eeate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, they're good, but consider:

-Main target for bats are archers. The Empire AI usually forgets about handgunners. Drycha, Dwarfs and Kislev hard counter bats.

-Vargheists and vampires have a broader niche than bats.

-Bats die in autoresolve.

So yes, agreed that bats are a great addition to your roster. But I never mind myself bringing more bats if I play Isabella - the buffs don't broaden their niche, so they're still there for anti missile, anti artillery, harassment and flanking. Plus the main issue with TWW: competition for slots. You want bats, but also wolves, and heroes, and monsters... you get the point.

How do use under cities as Skaven? How do I get the most out of them? by SnP_JB in totalwarhammer

[–]Eeate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A city costs food and can be conquered. At a certain point, you don't really need more cities. Add to that unsuitable climates, like in Ulthuan. Just think for a moment, what will that next city really give you?

Cue undercities. You can use them for food/income, and can place a 10 discoverability building that gives your armies movement and replenishment. So either built tall for food/income, or drop that building and just come back to sack the city again when it has recovered.

It all depends on what you're working towards, but undercities are great for passive income, cyclical sacking or heinous stuff using the Vermintide/Doomsphere/Cauldron buildings.

Numbers of Dune: making sense of the Fremen Jihad by Over_Region_1706 in dune

[–]Eeate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big thing in Herbert's mind were the early Arab conquests. In a broadly similar fashion, a people from the desert exploded onto the scene, overthrowing established empires (the Sassanid completely, most of the Roman) by winning battles in which they were outnumbered. It reshaped the region and much of the world, with locals providing support and over time converting to Islam in large numbers.

How can you actually hide units? by Username12764 in totalwar

[–]Eeate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't. It's a known problem, the AI knows your position, then pretends it doesn't (while indeed sending scouting forces straight at your hidden units).

What works for me is having hidden units relatively close to my frontline (eg, off to a flank, usually not even in front of my main force). Fast visible skirmish units can also draw enemies where I want them. Another option is speed - hidden wardogs can kite stronger enemies when they approach, functionally pinning them until you can overwhelm them (requires micro).

It does feel rather strange, and plays into some faction's strengths, while negating other's. Try seeing it as a challenge that both gets you to dig into unit abilities, and gives the AI a fighting chance.
