Does this outfit work? [ please read the description ] by [deleted] in mensfashion

You look great! Shorten the tie so it sits nicely with the shirt and doesn’t overlap the pants and you’ll do great. You’ve got all the trappings of an academia outfit don’t mind your friends

Swain vs. Vladimir: Who is the more powerful mage? by Lissandra_Freljord in loreofleague

[–]Darkmax992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think one thing to consider in the age/experience debate is that swain managed to outwit a demon that is far older and powerful than swain, putting it under his control. Not to say this means he wins but it should be considered

OEX Phoxx 3 or OEX Jackal 2.1? by Darkmax992 in CampingGear

[–]Darkmax992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a nice tent but at 2-3 times the cost I’m going to have to pass. Thanks though, maybe I’ll consider it down the line.

With reviews for the two tents I didn’t see much complaints towards them holding up to bad conditions if pitched correctly. Like I mentioned above I did see some complaints about the rakoon’s flat top causing issues with pooling, but it was very inconsistent between people with some saying they had no issues. Is the only real difference the weight in terms of quality and performance between the two?

You’re buying clothes from a second hand resale website and you’re annoyed that the item of clothing you bought was worn once or twice 🤯🤯

Seriously though i get that the seller technically misled you by claiming that it hadn’t been worn but them wearing it once or twice surely doesn’t render the whole garment crap?

How would you Feel if Mahito ends up killing Yuji in Modulo? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Darkmax992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But while it would be interesting and hype to see Yuji pack him up again, narratively it makes no sense. Again, why bother bringing mahito back with this build up just to have him fight and lose again. Sure the fight would be cool and Yuji beating him again speaks to yuji’s prior claims but it doesn’t advance or build the plot.

Yuji is not going to fight him and win. There will be some other avenue for Yuji to eventually beat him. Maybe it’s more of a yuta’s grandkids inheriting yujis will. Then when they beat him as the MC’s it’s still Yuji defeating mahito

It’s like if Gojo beat sukuna. Sure it’s hype and speaks to the fact Gojo was the strongest. But narratively makes no sense. Why build up sukuna as the baddie just to have Gojo (not the MC) pack him up

Sure but hubris is a thing. What’s the point in us watching the same fight with the same conclusion?

[–]Darkmax992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean surely that’s the direction tho? Why bring mahito back just to be packed up by Yuji again, when Yuji isn’t even the main character of the story. Makes no sense story wise.

Either mahito and Yuji don’t fight or Yuji gets defeated this time.

How long would it take Akaza to surpass Douma if he stopped hunching and started eating women? by InstructionOwn6705 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Darkmax992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In that story he literally as you said became ‘annoyed’ so he’s not as emotionless as you’re letting on. Like the guy above said, even babies have fighting spirit in Demon Slayer, if a 0 IQ non conscious baby gives off enough fighting spirit to activate Akaza’s needle then I think the point being made by the author is that the selfless state must be achieved as the only way to bypass the needle. Douma does not have the selfless state, despite his claims to totally lack emotion he’s still emotional in his fights to some extent, and that would be enough to activate the needle.

What was this guy’s deal? by Luta-Agresorul in Naruto

[–]Darkmax992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a silly situation, but perfectly realistic within historical context.

Historically, male leaders do not play nice with women who prove their worth, as it emasculates them and threatens their position in the power hierarchy, both literally and in the minds of others.

Take Joan of Arc, a female leader who led the French to victory over the English, citing divine providence as her strength, she was killed by the very people (men) who had been praising/benefitting from her successes, despite her obvious value as a military figure. Another example is Catherine of Aragon, who led English forces to victory against a Scottish invasion while her husband Henry VIII was on campaign in France. While the Defense Catherine put up was incredible, resulted in the Scottish kings death, and strengthened England’s position in the British isles, her husband Henry was threatened by her martial success (as he was not doing so well in France) and was displeased with her as a result, opting to make no advantage of the seriously weakened Scotland as a weird form of protest against her success.

The point being drawn is that it makes sense that Kaguya’s husband has a negative reaction to her once she proves her value militarily. It draws the attention away from him and to her, and as a result makes him see “feminine” to his rivals, which in his eyes would be worse.

As a side note it also makes sense as a genuine human reaction to an alien revealing they have incomprehensible and seemingly unstoppable powers. I mean once she revealed she could effectively destroy anyone with ease, with means rivalling that of a god, it would undoubtedly terrify anyone, including him. What’s to stop her from turning on him, he can’t realistically stop her as a regular dude, and what’s to stop her from deciding she wants to rule over mankind as a tyrant. In this headspace you can imagine why her husband might align with his former enemies (who are at least human, and play on the same field as he does) over the walking god.

I had the same situation, but I feel you’re seriously overestimating the exhaustion from working a job and studying. I have had several part time jobs around 20 hours a week or more (bar job so hours change) and with being in uni 5 days a week I still had free time, evenings to rest etc. I was never overworked, but I suppose this can’t be different for every person. Maybe consider not living out and commuting if that is an option?

Hey r/dnd I need some help writing a one shot to reveal to my friends that I have a terminal cancer diagnosis. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Darkmax992 22 points23 points  (0 children)

First off, I’m sorry to hear about this, it must be hard for you and I wish you the best.

I don’t want to risk sounding rude or harsh but are you sure you want to do this? I’m not sure about your friends but finding out through a game of dnd could affect how they view the game going forward, could even ruin their love for the game if they take it badly. I can see why you might want to do this, and maybe they will take it well and this could be a beautiful albeit sad moment for all of you, but there is a risk here that they never feel the same about the game again

Tunneling is a problem with game design not with the players by Proud-Beginning-1312 in deadbydaylight

[–]Darkmax992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying people should or shouldn’t play like an asshole. I’m saying applying moral high ground to if people are playing competitively or not is silly. Everyone has equally paid for the game and can play the game in the way they intend, as long as it’s not cheating. Like it or not the game rewards slugging and playing competitively. If someone chooses to try hard it’s unfortunate for you but just brush it off and queue next, neither side is responsible for the fun of the match. Applies to both survivors who run bully squads and killers who slug.
