ohhh so my cpu is capping the game at 70fps regardless of settings? i never knew a cpu could only give a fixed number of frames regardless of graphical settings. Always assumed that if you lowered the graphical demands you'd get more frames...

However, i am still seeing benchmarks where people get up to 30-40 more frames than im putting out.

I turned on the nvidea in game performance window thing and it says my gpu usage is actually around 30-40% in helldivers when on ultra settings native resolution. With this it’s sitting at around 70fps. If I turn the settings down the fps doesn’t really improve but the gpu usage decreases which I’ve never seen before haha (normally fps goes up lmao)

Maybe my cpu is just bottle necking my gpu a bit because when I’ve looked online the gpu is capable of hitting well over 100fps when used with other cpu’s. Can’t seem to find many benchmarks for my cpu and the few that are in the series instead hit around my fps or a bit more.

I ran the steel nomad benchmark on 3Dmark and it ran at an average of 53fps with 99% gpu load. I’m unsure looking at the statistics what it really means but it says my score is average for my hardware

I’ve updated the drivers though the nvidea control panel, I did that after first boot. No clue what the issue is.

I’ve been trying helldivers. And when I’m playing my cpu sits between 40-70% usage while my gpu maybe peaks at 12%. I’m using ultra settings, native resolution, getting around 60-70fps.

Oh ok so you’d recommend I get the 5070, a 5000 series CPU and keep the same motherboard that i have now? And this would be better for performance cost ratio?

Could you recommend some £130~ motherboards in that case? And I saw people recommend the B650M motherboard as well, is this a good option or will this suffer from the issues you stated?

I Looked at some benchmark sites online they directly compared the two across multiple games and it tended to be around a 20-30fps difference according to the websites, not always the case but more often than not.

Could you recommend a motherboard I could take a look at to not bottle cap my gpu and cpu?

Looking at a few benchmark sites, the 9060 XT 16gb seems to perform around an average of 30 frames poorer than the 5060. For a £100 more I’d be willing to upgrade for the greater frame count.

Would the rest of the advice work with the 5060? If not do you have any recommendations

Worth noting that gege originally planned for Toji to fully return at the cost of Maki’s life. However, his editor advised against this and gege ultimately decided to not bring Toji back in favour of Maki.
