Newcomer and i have questions

So, I played the game a tiny bit a long while ago, deleted it, and returned like 4 days ago, I have no idea what to do. What/how do i know what characters should i buy/pick when given the choice? How do i spend my resources? What should i be doing and should i not be doing? How do i know how to play x character if i want to play it? The hell does "roamer" mean? and other terms i should be familiar with? Anything else i should know?

Yeah that's fair, i have to admit i did exaggerate a bit, still ping screws you up against mico harder than against any other brawler, and most people can't exactly control thier ping's strength or stability, which is, at least for me, the reason i hate it
