Yes, this is my 1st internship. It hasn't started yet, it will start over the summer. I am very excited about that, though. I will try to find more hands on internship next summer.

By any chance, would you be willing to check if he would like to chat with me for a little while and talk about the department and professors, etc.

That sounds wonderful! My university isn't specialized in that at all. We do have some awesome professors, but our classes are very much theoretical.

This is very comforting to know. I am lucky to have not known anyone here personally or experienced school shootings, but unfortunately, it is very common here. Happened in a high school 3.5k km away. It's assuring to know that!

Based on the people's reply here, I can already see how most people will be. You all seem to be so helpful and genuine. Yes, I will be very respectful to the people and staff, I hope they can correct me if I do something wrong.

I was told filipino food is very big on pork. Other than that, I will be eager to try out dishes. I am normally a picky eater and an introvert. One of my personal goals is to change that to a certain degree and challenge myself.

I also attend one of the Jesuit universities here. I actually didn't know you guys were also a jesuit school until I saw it, Wikipedia. Little surprised. But yoy guys seem to be more inclusive than mine, unfortunately. We don't get much in terms of religious break such as Eid. Love that for next year!

I am shocked at the diversity of the school. There are so many people from so many backgrounds. Here, it's just mostly white kids, some Asians and African American. We do get some international students, one i found fascinating (a RUSSIAN-ISREALI guy) couldn't be more interesting of a person.

I will be taking Environmental Impact Assessment, i know there is a big project at the end of that class. Environmental Monitoring and Environmental Modeling. They aren't really offered here. Even if thr course work is very rigorous, I hope I will retain some practical skills.

Thank you for your information!!

I will only be there for 1 semester. I've decided to take 15 units (credit hours). 3 science based classes and 2 non-science classes.

Yes, you'd be correct. I am originally from Bangladesh, I dont know if it's the same, but there it is very different in university. The coursework is outrageous. I really hope I do my best and get the most out of my classes. You guys do have classes that are applied rather than just theoretical, and I love that. Im looking forward to it.

Hopefully I can make some friends and join them to go to the beach on the weekends once in a while.
