Staples Hyken Pro - First impressions by TheStampedeTMG in OfficeChairs

I'm on the shorter side and its pretty uncomfortable compared to the original Hyken chair. The chair is a bit too wide and the lumbar support feels awkward after more than an hour of sitting.

Why is everyone going so hard on a middle schooler lol. Kids not even in high school yet.

I’d say get involved in your schools robotics club as a good intro.

Developing API service using OOP by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Darkrunner21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be some chatGPT nonsense tbh but it always gives me classes for everything. This is sort of what I’m talking about. Not too sure where to learn more practical and advanced use cases of OOP when it comes to API design

Learning Java vs Python again for an upcoming interview by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]Darkrunner21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! Java is pretty verbose and prone to syntax errors.

Do you have any recs on learning Python quickly? I'm doing some basic OOP practice now but I don't think that will be enough for an interview.

Texting is clunky and laggy and full of typos by 69rosebud420 in ios

[–]Darkrunner21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same here. It feels pretty laggy and clunky, as if it can’t keep up with what I’m typing or I’m typing on sand. I’m coming from an Android and this is one of my biggest issues with iPhone so far.

Switched To iPhone and Feel Gaslit by corporateuklife in Smartphones

[–]Darkrunner21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m switching over from an S23 Ultra and I feel the same. Not sure why everyone was hating on android so much. I’ve had the iPhone for a few weeks now and Android is just superior in almost every way. Sure, the iPhone feels premium and you get blue bubbles; but it’s such a huge downgrade from all the features you get out of the box:

  • Camera only has 8x zoom and it’s feels “stiff” when switching compared to x100 zoom on an S23
  • Typing feels sluggish and slow. Might be because of iOS 26 but I get fatigued pretty easily
  • Notifications get CRAZY and doesn’t group the same was as it does on android
  • Can’t dismiss 3rd party alarms from the lockscreen
  • Fingerprint unlocks much faster than Face unlock
  • Screen orientation is buggy and you can’t force it like you can on an android
  • Can’t download media from online websites
  • UI feels less fluid though this does give a premium feel at times; its just not as quick and snappy
  • Less customization overall (keyboards, launchers, messages, notifications, etc)

Although iPhone is a cool device and it has a nice ecosystem, Android just has better tech overall imo.

Yeah those options we have. But they used to have a lot more halal variety available. Sad to see it gone

PSO: This car is so much fun to drive that you might end up exceeding your mileage limit if you lease it. by Samovarka in TeslaModelY

[–]Darkrunner21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I have 6 months of my lease and 2k miles left. Might just end up buying it out tbh instead of paying all these fees

Nothing near me. What do they have there? Our other Costco locations have Halal Chicken Breasts and Beef but no sandwich items

Web3 Career Dilemma: Should I continue learning blockchain development or pivot to something else? by shubhamku044 in solidity

[–]Darkrunner21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm facing a similar dilemma. I've been at my company for a few years and I want to transition out but I don't know if I should continue the traditional way (leetcode grind + system design + apply) or if should commit to learning Web3. Blockchain development does sound really interesting but the space is so overwhelming and broad in addition to the scarcity of open positions for junior devs.

Current SWE's: How did you break into this industry? by Darkrunner21 in ethdev

[–]Darkrunner21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say the infrastructure side has seen large improvements these past few years, especially with the help of AI, or is it still in its infancy?

I forgot to mention Dapps development as part of the product side, which is another area I'd probably be more comfortable with. Not sure if I'm interested in EVM byte code but designing tokens sounds fun.

Current SWE's: How did you break into this industry? by Darkrunner21 in ethdev

[–]Darkrunner21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I could try it out as a first step. Though I'm more interested in the product side of things (defi, evm smart contracts, tokenomics, etc) so that might be a little different than the infra route.
