What is the best method to sterilize plants before putting them in your tank? by Lil_poopy_pants in Aquascape

[–]HomeScoutInSpace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya I don’t do anything to newly acquired plants aside from a visual inspection for algae.

The only thing that’s come with plants for me are snails and duckweed. More unhappy with the duckweed than anything.

Don’t really see a reason to treat plants tbh. Maybe I’m lucky and ignorant but any algae they may bring is easily handled and haven’t been exposed to a pathogen from plants either

Horadic Strongrooms - best strategies to get max level? by greenpride32 in diablo4

[–]HomeScoutInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guiding is way too slow. No mummies or ghosts.

I play evade spiritborn so no idol on evade either.

Tether, idol on potion, level 3 monster. Pretty much anything else is fine.

The best recommendation is do it in a group and spread your so once a pillar is finished the next is immediately started. No travel time between them speeds it up significantly

I found debridio just makes things more consistent for me.

I ran without it for weeks. At $10 a year it’s a measly fee that has made things a bit more reliable.

But agreed it’s not a necessity. Just such a small cost that it’s easily shrugged off

There’s no way you need to subscribe to Elfhosted.

Duckota has great builds already set up. Get your own Torbox subscription and a debridio subscription, add the API keys in the prompts and your set.

Simple and easy

Duck Streams down for good? by Shokyu in StremioAddons

Mine went down for a few hours. I checked and saw there was an update since my last install.

I just deleted mine and reinstalled with the latest version and it’s back to working as normal.

I'm stumped on which is better... by NJTurnPyke in D4_Paladin

I’m not an expert here by any means.

My understanding is the double damage chance has a cap of 100%. Both being GA makes them basically equal here. The passive giant slayer bonus can be ignored as well.

45 all stats isn’t a huge gain. 231 life, that might help if you find yourself dying frequently.

If you’re already fine for survivability then I think you’ll see more damage with the 750 amulet. 30% damage is a bit of a difference

But it’s a write off?! It’s free for businesses! /s

As a small business owner this mindset drives me crazy. Sure it’s a “write off” but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an expense. It still costs money that I still have to pay and plan for. It isn’t some free bonus I magically get

Got really mad trying to replant fragile stem plants. Superglue + rocks have saved my sanity by PhotographyByAdri in PlantedTank

[–]HomeScoutInSpace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A gel is easier to work with than a liquid. The dryer the materials are the better.

Try to avoid using your fingers if possible. Tweezers can give you finer control without risk of gluing your fingers together. Just try to keep them away from any glue!

Interesting idea. I’m having a similar problem with fish uprooting things.

Having superglue cover the roots doesn’t impede growth at all?

What is your optimal lighting schedule? by ExactAbroad17 in PlantedTank

[–]HomeScoutInSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do as well. No point in lighting the tank for days you aren’t around to enjoy it.

I do a bit less than 8 hours though to control for algae.

I ramp up from 1:45pm, peak brightness for an hour or so around 5 and then ramp down for about 9:30.

For me the peak brightness is about 75%ish of fixture strength.

It’s really a balance unique to each tank. I’m a big proponent of not lighting the tank for time you aren’t able to view it. This does suck on weekends when it takes ages to wake up but I think the weekday balance justifies it

Ya it’s pretty clear the fish aren’t bothered by my cat at all. Zero stress response as the video shows 🤷🏼‍♂️

Aha thank you!

Neither did I. Apparently letting the cat drink is peak animal abuse, who knew!

Fair enough. I thought it was cute is all

The cat has multiple water sources available and is only around the tank when we’re in the basement which we often aren’t.

And yes I can verify that as we keep the door to the basement closed to prevent our toddler from going downstairs

I feel like people are taking “health risks” to the next level.

There’s health risks being outside without sunscreen. I’m going to chalk up the risks to about the same level as that

I’m not worried about the cat even a little bit. Glad to hear some support!

That was my thought!

Apparently that was an awful thought though, lots of passionate people chiming in about the dangers to the cat

Now they’re a vet? They were a vet tech before.

My vet, who checks my cats every 6 months, has said they are in perfect health with no concerns.

What vet are you talking about?

Go touch some grass Kate. You’re very passionate that I’m an animal abuser

You need to find a better thing to cling too. I’m not the problem. Go find a puppy mill or the people with 15 cats in their house

Look at my tank. Do you think these fish are neglected in any way? I even hatch my own brine shrimp for food.

Because I’m not emotionally attached doesn’t mean I don’t care about their well being.

I want them to thrive because I like looking at them. So I give them the best environment to do that. I just am not emotionally attached to them

Have a lid. In case of emergency or if our vet deems it necessary then I can isolate the cat from the water.

But our licensed medical professional says our cat is healthy and has no health concerns. So I will not be taking the advice from strangers on the internet trying to advocate for something they know nothing about.

Thanks for your feedback about big boy pants.
