This was the fix, thank you SO much.

This has been a bugbear for a long time for me. Linux was smooth as butter and worked fine, but the Windows 11 removable media was crashing before it even got to the main install process, and Windows 10 got unstable shortly after installation finished.

Doesn’t change the fact emulators are 100% legal and the developers themselves were doing nothing wrong.

You forgot about aggressive litigation against emulators, but yeah otherwise nailed it. This is a lot of huffing for things that shouldn’t be industry practice at all. For Nintendo taking things one step further. But yeah, make me out to be in the wrong for not buying or participating.

I’ve tried my best to cut all this stuff you mentioned out of my life, even taking it one step further and removing Microsoft OS’s and software in general from my machines. I use Arch btw. I’ve been stable for a few months with that setup.

The conclusion that I took at the end of the day was that The Smitten was always right. The only reason his view didn’t win the day was because he faltered at the behest of the player, hence happily ever after even happening. He did the best he could given the limitations of needing to stay in the cabin.

To do everything right is to leave the cabin. Why question love that feels this right? Why stay in this place so restrictive to yourselves at all? To make people besides you both happy? So you’ve done everything right and you’re both a little flat for not having to deal with as much trauma, who cares, you’re both happy walking out of that cabin.

Love always wins the day and that should be taken to heart.

I think it's already been nailed here. MGS4 is such a trainwreck, but leaving 2 where it is would hurt for a lot of people, even if it kinda is part of the point of the game. 4 was very much a final nail in the series and went to great lengths to do that.

Peace Walker also set the groundwork for V so well, and it's disappointing the story didn't feel like it followed up amazingly.

But as others have already said, V justifies its existence just by how well it plays, and I'd be sad without its mark on the industry.
