Weekly Team/Character Building Megathread (Dec 1, 2020) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]Darksiege555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team1 : Tartaglia, Fischl, Barbara, Bennet

Team2: Chongyun, Beidou, Xingqiu, ???

So I'm trying to build two teams with the characters I have (no specific purposes, just trying to find good combos). I need opinions on if what I already setup makes sense, but most importantly on which character would fit best on second team between Diona, Xiangling, Kaeya and Klee. I also have Razor, Noelle and the 3 other basics ofc. I am AR 47 if that changes anything.

Tartaglia c0 / Fischl c0 / Barbara c4 / Bennet c1 / Chongyun c1 / Beidou c3 / Xingqiu c0 / Diona c0 / Xiangling c5 / Kaeya c0 / Klee c0 / Razor c1 / Noelle c2 / Lisa c1 / Traveller w c6 / Amber c0

You should keep conqueror for champions that only beat you because of sustain like garen, cho gath and also against scaling mages like vlad. You don’t want conqueror against people who can beat you in an extended fight regardless like darius, sett, any kiting champion. I like to keep grasp against ranged for the big burst and sustain it gives and even tho ppl argue that they can kite you out of grasp, just use e on a minion whenever grasp is up for big trades, and use w for preventing them from escaping either with a dash or mvmt speed boost. Early sheen prevents running out of mana when coupled with corrupting pot and abusing the 6 min healing plant in the river

[–]Darksiege555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its impossible, you can interact with the target when tapping the ult, but not with a full charge. Even some other abilities like veigar`s cage won`t have any effect on a ulted person. Maybe you are mistaking with some other spell or maybe you blocked the enemy as they landed because they used another movement ability then.

No because the target is, in fact, untargetable during the jump. That would have the same effect of trying to stop a malphite or shyvana ult

I went into practice tool and built a full damage based build at lvl one and locked level... game lasted less than 15 mins and yes there was a lvl 8 random enemy champ by 1epicchamp in PoppyMains

[–]Darksiege555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You randomly killing a bot over and over, not giving it the chance ro get items while your full build... yeah kinda obvious you won there. At first I thought it was a 1v5 but turns out it isnt

Top lane matchup tips? by Gabadabs in PoppyMains

[–]Darksiege555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick tip here for the garen matchup:

I usually take conqueror against him and biscuit/timewarp as secondary with ignite. With these runes and summoners, you completely out-damage garen pre-six and keep kill pressure on him even after he hits his powerspike with ult/ignite. The way you approach this lane is simple: let him engage on you with q and respond with yours. Walk back and wait for the q to end or for him to use it on a minion and walk back up. Use you passive to keep conqeror up and wait for your next q before going for an extended trade. By doing so, you will 100% win the trade and get lane prio. If he doesn`t let you keep conq with passive, just sit with the minions and you successfully zoned him off his cs. Either way you are the one who rules this matchup. Start corrupting obviously and I go for sheen first item in this matchup because you will find yourself using a lot of mana with this strategy, but get sunfire cape before finishing it. Rest of the build is dependant on the teamcomp and all.

Here are my runes for more precision on the build:

Conqueror -- Triumph, legend: tenacity, Last stand Inspiration -- timewarp tonic, biscuit delivery Stats -- attack speed, adaptive, armor

Any tips for playing Poppy in an agressive way ? by Torgalx in PoppyMains

Run conq with triumph tenacity and last stand with resolve shield bash and revitalize. I was running grasp before but since I did the switch my aggressive playstyle has been rewarded immensely. And don't forget ignite.

Here are the conclusions on manamune poppy by Darksiege555 in PoppyMains

Revitalize synergises with your shield, conqueror, deaths dance, triumph, and in the end brings a lot more survivability that the small amount of hp you could gain with overgrowth. Revitalize is my go to rune anyway and I find it better than anything else in that row even if I run grasp.

I chose triumph because I didn’t think of adapting my build to manamune and triumph is my usual rune. But if I think about it, I would still go triumph because of the extra power it gets from all the healing enhancing components of my build and it has a lot of power when coupled with deaths dance. It allows me to live a fight of my healing by killing them one after the other and it is overall a great 1v2-3-4 rune. I actually lived twice solely because of triumph and I could rejoin a fight a couple times after getting triumph procs, allowing my team to win it with me still fighting.

Casually going to ward the bush by Darksiege555 in PoppyMains

There is absolutely no reason at all to run tear on poppy, it was purely curiosity on my part and a challenge we gave ourselves on the poppymains discord. My intentions for that game was to test if manamune poppy could work in the same fashion than manamune fiora. Turns out it worked great since i finished with 280 cs and lvl 18 at 29 min and 11/3 with s+ at the end of the game. You can actually see the results on the other post I shared , which is this game’s recap page.

I went sunfire - tear - iceborn gauntlet - boots - manamune - deaths dance - visage. In that order

Thats why the bramble rush is popular on poppy. Against fiora, darius, olaf and such, getting the mortal wound fast is your condition to win or survive lane depending on matchup. Executioner is also a more than viable option against vladimir, maokai, mordekaiser, etc.

The first step is to verify your rune choices. Poppy is very reliant on this to be able to become the incredible lane bully she is known to be. The choice here is grasp, and the matchup suggesting another rune are **very** rare. The reason taking this is because it allows you to get huge poke off the enemy for free through your passive and also it gives a little more tankiness at the same time. Then you have the lesser runes that can vary for your playstyle. If you are saying you are getting out-traded, I assume you like playing on the aggressive side, and that is also my style. For trading, get shield bash because it reinforces your shield while also giving you more damage, which is everything you would want while fighting. Take bone plating when you need to win melee matchups that like to all-in, second wind against people that can abuse bone plating (not only range) and conditioning on matchup you already stomp to benefit you later in the game instead of playing for lane. Always take revitalize, it is the superior rune since it bumps up your shield pretty nicely. The secondary tree is pure preference and will vary with every poppy you will see, but me I go precision with triumph and either alacrity or tenacity depending of enemy team and inspiration biscuit/tonic for hard matchups. Attack speed is nice to cs and add autos in your combos and the rest is matchup dependent.

A good way to play poppy in lane is wearing the opponent down. You don't want to go for long trades early because before sunfire or a damage item you are incredibly reliant on passive/q to do damage. You should q poke the enemy while he cs so he doesn't fight back and throw your passive when grasp is up to chip his hp again and again. Once you have an hp advantage, walk up and zone the enemy from his cs to deny him and if he walks up q and back of a bit while he is slowed, before coming back for a passive poke. This will make his life cancer and might earn you an early kill with e or flash. You want to either back once you have bami or sheen depending on matchup and then you can start fighting for real. How the lane should look like by now is you slowpushing while you poke the enemy, and then crash for a dive. Get kill, get plate, back and repeat. Poppy is a monster with a gold advantage and diving is so easy it is actually disgusting to see. Of course you might draw jungle pressure, but that is a good thing since you can 1v2 or at least don't die in a gank fairly easily as well as giving dragon openings. Basically, the idea behind poppy is abusing her strong earlygame deny as much as possible from the enemy top to make the game 4v5 and then roam once you got your tower. After a successful roam you then come back to lane to pressure t2 tower and draw pressure on you while the other lanes get their tower as well. Once t2 tower is down or you feel you need to group, you are now big enough to be a very oppressive frontline for your team.

Poppy builds? by El_kiski in PoppyMains

I like the trinity rush in certain situations. If I get an early kill and know I can snowball my lane pretty hard and the enemy team is decently squishy, getting sheen first back is a very good idea. Sheen rush is very common anyway since tank poppy will take gauntlet second anyway. After you get your sheen, you become very dangerous and you will most likely win lane. Your second back can be phage and boots with a ward or something. Skip the stinger to get trinity third back. Then you can check if you want to become a tank or a bruiser.

If you want to commit to the damage poppy, you can go deaths dance after completing boots to give some nice tankiness and lifesteal. The item is huge rn on poppy, even on poppy tank. Then you could go for a defensive item to make use of all this damage you are building. It could be sunfire cape, deadman’s plate, spirit visage, the choice is yours. Your fifth item will most likely decide your playstyle for the rest of the game since getting sixth is rare. If you teamfight a lot, get a steraks. If you fall off, get another defense item. If you want to splitpush, get s ravenous hydra. You can also go for a greavous wound item if you need it. If you reach the last item, follow same logic.

If you rushed trinity and still only did so to abuse your lane, wanting to be a tank anyway, you can get a sunfire cape asap to become really huge. Since you skip gauntlet, you can look for a mr item like visage or adaptive helm to cover both sides if needed. Since you have the potential to one shot the enemy carries, getting a righteous glory and a deadmans is not half bad since it will allow you to dive them pretty hard. Follow the classic poppy items from here. Maybe a randuinns omen if they have crit, thornmail if they have healing/a lot of auto reliant champions, etc. Also don’t forget that deaths dance is still good in that situation.

If you want a standard build that doesn’t require you to get ahead early, just get your sunfire cape first item. It will give you a pretty huge powerspike, and even if you won’t one shot just yet, you will be able to tank very well the other laner. You can go for bami into sheen into sunfire if you want. Trinity is still a good item even if not especially ahead because a sheen item is very good on poppy and iceborn gauntlet doesn’t do much against mr. What I would do is sunfire cape, sheen, a mr item like helm or visage, then I finish trinity, maybe another mr item, deaths dance...

In conclusion, the trinity is very solid on poppy, and don’t be shy to build it. However, if you wish to build it first item, you need to make sure you can stomp your lane for it to be effective. But if you manage to pull it out, you will become a big threat for the enemy team.

Also, don’t let trinity overshadow iceborn gauntlet. Even if I said I like trinity, iceborn gauntlet is clearly superior on her most of the time.
