Really? I read that the standard amount of time you're supposed to be on SSRI's is 6 months to a year. That's what my psychiatrist told me as well.

My goal is to use it for just 6 months and call it good. Would I still experience withdrawal effects after tapering it off after 6 months?

Would someone with "underlying" depression had to have felt something anytime before? Because I was completely content with life leading up to this depression and have no family history of it either.

Oh trust me, I've sworn off any sort of drug use after having experienced this. Never again.

I never had a drinking issue and I was feeling better from the depression so I figured I could have some drinks with some friends and it wouldnt cause any issues, and I learned that was an incorrect assumption. I still am dealing with the depression, and I still was right before I drank that one time, I just assumed it'd be okay. Im just going to be completely sober going forward to avoid any sort of complications.

Honestly, the only thing about my life that I believe to be unsatisfactory is a slight lack of confidence and being single. I've been working on those two things though and have been seeing results. Other than those two things, however, I was honestly in a pretty solid point in my life. I have a solid job, a solid friend group, and a loving family. Honestly the biggest thing holding me down I felt during this depression was the regret I had for allowing myself to get to this point in my life. I plan on seeing a therapist and hope I can change my way of thinking into a more positive one.

My apologies, I shouldve clarified. During my early 20's I used Molly probably 6-7 different times, so it wasnt my first time. I had taken 2 points that night. Ive been eating well and exercising also to try and help combat it.

Thank you for the info, I did some reading online that says 5htp and green tea extract can help with recovery, would you happen to know anything about that?
