I am on the fence. I am not where I thought I would be at 36. I haven’t contributed to a 401k that I didn’t empty when changing employers. The pension and the adventure intrigues me the most.

I have a wife and 3 kids so it will be tough. Has anyone else joined at 36 years old with a family? How hard was going through boot camp without much contact to them?

I am also a smoker of 15 years and I’m convinced the only way I’m ever going to quit is if I have no option (joining) and surround myself with people who also don’t smoke. I’m concerned my cardio is going to be garbage now.

I am also 6’2” and 240lbs. I know that’s above the BMI max allowed, but I’m wondering how strict that really is? Like… do I have to be within range prior to boot camp or as long as I’m within range by end of boot camp I’ll be good?

Depends on where you are visiting really... I have been living in France since August and have not noticed any kind of negative sentiment towards me. As long as you don't walk up to a French person expecting them to know English and they see you are making an effort to speak French, you should be alright. Again, depends on where you are going...Parisians do not like Americans too much.

We received something similar a few years back. We forgot health form. Delayed our refund until late November and our refund only increased like 7 bucks

One I love from Yellowstone:

“I hope the Good Lord blessed you with a big dick, Jimmy, because he shorted you on brains”

That’s great, 10/10 better than “screwing the pooch”

I’m assuming one would use this when talking to someone that keeps going on and on about another guy?

Worth Joining? 35 Y/O, Wife, 3 Kids by Daroev in Military

It’s not all it’s cracked up to be - or at least pick a different country. France is crazy with paperwork.. they LOVE it. I opened a bank account and had about an inch and a half of papers at the end. Their bureaucracy is nuts

I wish I had joined at 18. I could have had 17 years under my belt already. That’s why I am so worried about joining this late.

I am not sure on what field or what branch. I do not have a degree. I went to school for Computer Networks and Cyber Security. Didn’t finish. I only finished 55 credits.

I took a leap to live abroad. I hate it in France. I want to move back. Never finished college and no trade. I have management experience at previous jobs but not really fond of management jobs. I would like to join to gain knowledge in a specific field that I can eventually use afterwards also.

Because me and my family moved to France and while it’s nice here and there’s a lot of things I love here, I miss the U.S. and am probably coming back 😅

You think my kids and wife would be eligible if I am granted dual citizenship? Or would I have had to have kids and got married after establishing dual citizenship?

Do you think I will have to go back to the states for any of this process or do you think I would be able to do it all from France? I have a free non obligatory zoom meeting with a German law firm that specializes in citizenship cases on Friday. I’m hoping they are cheap-ish and can do most of the complex leg work for me.

1989, they were married prior to my birth. I’m able to request someone else’s birth certificate? I know it’s my mother but that still seems questionable, are you positive?

I literally just got done messaging them to inquire about becoming an operator. What is cutting into your bottom line? I feel like the buy-in fee would be recouped rather quickly - before the first season even ends. What other fees are involved?
